I can't stop crying when I hear this dang song. Your voice is beautiful thanks for this cover. The original gets me going about my brother who just died from the flu obviously unexpectedly and man, one of the hardest things I've ever had to fathom in my life. And then I picture my kids, if I ever lost them and now I think of what my poor mom has to go thru on a daily basis for losing her only son... and she puts on such a strong face just to get by. I totally agree with you, I understand how it feels. I lost my mum to in the year 2012 to cancer and never got the chance to say a proper goodbye. This song goes out to her as well. Wow, you nailed it! Just lost my best friend of 49.6 years. When she was first diagnosed I was able to go and stay with her and spend the night. Then Covid came and I NEVER got to say all of the things that I have wanted to say to her for over 4 decades. I really lost a piece of my soul and I am having a very hard time dealing with it. Most days I just pretend that she's still in the hospital because otherwise I'm not sure I would bother even getting up each day. You can bet that my heart says those very words: if I would have known.....

You’re great… and, heck, I wouldn’t be comfortable doing what you just did. But, coming from a place of community/helping and listening to this blindly, I think you should own your own voice. Like, when you go into the chorus that’s amplified “if I would’ve known” … that’s when I felt like I actually heard the voice that’s most comfortable for you. The other part was good, but those sections when you get powerful are your greatest strength IMO… which isn’t scratch. So, I say sing it like YOU in your own version. You can keep the same tenderness of the song in its quiet moments. Just figure it out in your voice. Regardless, well done.
