It's like if Wintersun and early Equilibrium fused with Lorna Shore.

The whole LS comparison seem pretty lame to. Enough is enough to me and they brought these symphonic/black elements before the whole "Pain Remains" thing. The song is fire.

yeah, blackened deathcore has been around for like ten or more years now, it just happens to be cool now particularly after the Lorna EP (which is great) But now everytime there are black vibes with blast beat everyone is saying Lorna, come on, this is just plain folk black, nothing similar to what Lorna are doing

I'll be labeled as a Lorna dick rider but to be fair, Lorna's been doing very blackened deathcore since Psalms.. and even the EP before. Ya know, before people even knew who they were lol. Love this Mental Cruelty record. Grew on me with every listen. So good.

Wow this was insane, if this is a sign of things to come with them in their new direction I am hyped! Love the ensiferum/winter sun folk metal vibes (which also has that power metal sound your saying) mixed with the Lorna shor death core vibe, definitely makes them stand out more than their older stuff!

This song makes alot sense for the album, I feel like it's an evolution from what the band was in the first couple songs then evolves with new styles like this song to show they're changing to something new. One of my favorite albums in a long time

The breakdown for me is a mix between lorna shore breakdown and the breakdown of última hypocrita (the previous song of their previous álbum of mental cruelty).

The songs a poem written by the guitarist sang in old German. After listening to this album it beats out the pain remains easily. Lorna Shore does have songs like this, soulless existence is the main one though still less symphonic no real breakdown and verses that sound like they could be in a dragon force song instrumentally. The sound and production is because it’s the same producer,

If they did a Lorna style breakdown with some melody in the back (similar to the ....AIRTN title track) I think it would fit better and contribute more to the track overall. That said, still a fantastic tune.

I love this song! If they keep up this sound it could surpass the previous album which is still the gold standard for blackened deathcore imo. Yes the breakdown was definitely LS, but the synth in this song makes up for it. The synth/orchestra and guitar work does not feel like LS and makes this really stand out in my opinion.

Not a fan of the intro song, I aint a folk fan at all. But Symphony of a Dying Star is a great song, I actually like the genres mixte there. Also, you shouldnt sleep on the new To The Grave album, its really really good ! Havent been obsessed with a deathcore album since The Chosen last year ! Would be awesome to see a reaction to at least the last single, Found Footage, which is different for them.

It’s funny that as much as I like deathcore and breakdowns, the breakdown is my least favorite thing about the song. It’s fun, but in this instance it felt a bit forced and very out of place. Overall, though, the song’s great. Big fan of the Wintersun-y vibe, Lukas sounds sick, and I’m very curious to hear more.
