Not a newborn but a toddler. My little cousin is the opposite of photogenic, just like this entire family. I couldn't catch him smiling on camera, he'd deadpan and look away constantly, just like my younger brother. In fact, he was very clingy and couldn't be separate from his parents, so he didn't smile often. To remedy this, try tickling him or letting him tickle you, show him magic tricks, say funny words (like poop). It would probably get babies to smile on your command as well!

This continues into the toddler years. They’re doing or saying something cute and it stops or they refuse to do it the minute you pull out the camera.

Yessss. I remember when my baby was first born it was three in the morning I was exhausted from him waking me up every other hour. (He had a dairy and soy allergy I didnt know about yet.) I'm only half awake changing his diaper in the dark when suddenly my leg is getting wet. I'm PURE confusion till I realize and I'm like fine let him finish the job. He does I finish changing him then I try to wake up my loving husband and tell him he just peed all over me and the floor. My husband only 1/8th awake asked, "you want me to help you?" My sarcasm came in hot and I replied "nope just waking you up at three in the morning to let you know your son peed everywhere

There's some sort of weird decompression that happens the moment the diaper is undone. At that point the volume of poo that can exit the baby may exceed the volume of the entire baby. How can an seven pound baby pass two pints of poo? In less than ten seconds? We have had the baby overflow TWO diapers during ONE changing session. I'm beginning to wonder if the baby may be a portal into another dimension, and some sadistic alien is directing all their offspring's poo to exit their dimension, and enter ours, through our baby.
