Eric Thigpen's KZbin tributes to Olivia Newton-John are incredible. His awesome talent in editing and artistic eye enable him to put together miniature movies highlighting Olivia's fantastic career and tremendous, natural talent and beauty (inside and out). Even if you simply like ONJ you should take time out to watch one of Eric's tributes to her on KZbin....

What a lot of you don't realize is that Olivia was indirectly responsible for Tina Turner's Comeback. She introduced Tina to her Manager Roger Davies when Tina guest starred on her Second TV Special Hollywood Nights. The Brits were always so supportive of Black Artists.

laminage For starters Roger Davies was never British. He was Australian. Please at least get that right. That Australian man was very supportive of Tina. Olivia also identifies as Aussie as well as British. John Farrar who wrote a lot of her music was also Australian. She moved to Australia when she was 5 and that was where she found her first notoriety long before going anywhere else. She started out as Lovely Livvy on an Australian TV show . Her first big break was winning a talent contest in Australia as a teenager on the popular TV show, “Sing, Sing, Sing,” which earned Olivia the prize of a trip to London. That's how she ended up back in England for a time. She was reluctant to use the trip at first but her mother encouraged her to go.

@@Hunny1au When I said that it was because Olivia was "British Born". Also keep in mind that it was Fellow Brits not to mention Rod Stewart/David Bowie/Elton John & The Stones who had her back when The US pretty much turned their back on her. I also know she like The Bee Gees moved to Australia as a Teenager but even though she had her first taste of success she was honored by The Queen with an OBE.

@@laminage Yes but the Brits didn't get her started. They picked her up after one of their Commonwealth countries shot her to notoriety. That was my point.
