the stamina amount could be based on the hp gadge. (it wouldn't lower it but its current value would be the stamina you start with for the climb) this way a tired Pokémon can't climb far. level would also be important.

Also this is probably why they went away from hm. Honestly enough I thought it was kinda annoying at times. Cause you had to either have a HM slave or give a move a lot away to those hm. Given some of the hm aren’t bad like surf, strength and fly being at the time some of the strongest move the type had to offer. But then you get like cut, flash, rock smash… 😒

That area once I was playing in hoenn and one of the electrode pokemon near the masterball were selected before obtaining the masterball and the battle happened but not normal the electrode was blue for some reason only to realize it was shiny. We tried to catch it with normal pokeballs but it popped out of them and used explosion to end the battle and fail on catching a shiny pokemon.
