Been playing an Arbaal campaign and I actively go out of my way to only fight battles with some degree of difficulty and fight them manually. I’ve also got two high tier challenges at Zhar Naggrund which plan to take on last by teleporting back to my own land, meeting up with another army to make things even versus the 20 unit garrisons and trudging there on foot, killing every chaos stunty in my path.

I really love Arbaal. Like I said in a poll not long ago, I love his straightforwardness in a world where it’s heroes and villains alike are so extra. Where is Arbaal is just a strong, exalted warrior who knows how to get the job done! He feels like his own person, with his own character, and he doesn’t need validation from anyone except his gods and his brothers in arms, even if he can be a bit rough with them. He feels like what Wolfrik should have been! And hey, a win is a win! His choice to pick on the weaker factions is no different from what real warbands have done, and I’m sure you’d jump at the chance if the opportunity was tempting enough. The brettonians colony in lustria was honestly massive wasted potential they could’ve made a brettonian that broke the mold and was exiled for being a skaven tier asshole and given him interesting mechanics in regards to chivalry, peasants, and knights for example he would have to pay a kings ransom for knights because they hate him but since it’s now a penal colony his recruitment pool for peasants would be the toughest and meanest criminals brettonian society had to offer and you could sack settlements to beef up your peasants by attracting tougher and meaner criminals with the promise of plunder but instead we got a study on how to make a generic lord

Fun fact, Arbaal DOES change the game with his starting position. Because at least on the highest difficulty his presence seems to lead to the Chorfs consistently spreading to Kislev VERY early. Making for example Malakais campaign way harder.

I played Alberic. He can be fun, you get his vows done really fast and thdt of his lords, since he is in a jungle (for the winning a seige battle in a jungle as second vow). When i play manual battles with him i have the wii sports title theme playing in my head.
