The celtics are a great team, but i think the killer instincts of Giannis and Lilliard are going to carry them. Giannis knows what its like to rise to the very top and is keener than ever to get there, and Lilliard's always wanted a decent chance at a ring. That combination is going to be very tough for anyone to beat, and I just don't think Tatum has the mentality to beat that.

They literally trapped the shit out of dame every single play because Nurkic couldn’t do anything out of the short roll 4 on 3. If Nurkic was giannis in that series the pelicans and holiday would’ve got smoked and dame would’ve ate against holiday. Nothing you can do when you get trapped and blitzed and your teammates can’t make them pay. Dame did his job that series Nurkic is the main reason they lost

The ceiling for Bucks is definitely high on paper, that Dame and Giannis games complement each other so well they could unlock things out of each other that we have not seen before. If Khris is back to 90% before his injury he would be the scariest third option in the NBA. Either way though I think Bucks and Celtics are pretty much locked first and second seed in the east. We have two actual championship contender with the rest of the east in another tier (unless we see some of the young teams see breakouts)

Middleton is hardly a celtics-killer. A game winner and a few good games doesn't mean he consistently beats them, and in fact last year the bucks had one of their worst losses is franchise history against the Celtics, with Middleton on the floor. That combined with his injury history doesn't give me much confidence. To the point of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Arenas shouldn't be talking being one of the least disciplined players ever. Plus, the Cs have made it to the finals and have consistently gotten to the ecf, apart from their finals year the Bucks can't stay the same and Dame has heavily faltered as the playoffs go on. Not saying I'd take the Celtics 100%, but half the info here is entirely nitpicked to make an argument around the bucks winning.

That Holiday VS Lillard stat means so little at this current day in age. With Giannis being the best in the world, with no solution for his matchup, with his work ethic, his motivation, and his desire to win, and with Dame opening the court and closing out games as he does, with Khris having so many opportunities because of the others two double teams, with Crawder being the tough defender we all remember, with Brook being the rim protector he is, with Marjon wanting to prove he deserves to be their starting shooting guard, having a new coach and a different approach, with the excitement in Milwaukee skyrocketed, i don't give Celtics more than 10% to win the series. The Bucks have recently done it and they know how to do it again. Giannis is the leader they needed and Dame is the missing piece for them to contend for years to come. Winning the ring won't be easy because there are many great teams in the league, like Denver first and foremost, Boston, Lakers, Warriors, Phoenix and many more getting better and better as the season progresses, but eventually what will make the difference is the desire to go and get that ring, and in my mind there isn't a better duo than Giannis and Dame in the league. As a Bucks fan i couldn't be more excited for the season upon us! And it's gonna be the most competitive league since the Warriors dynasty back in '18!

They have two of the league's best two-way guards in Jrue Holiday and Derrick White alongside the NBA's best two-way wing in Jayson Tatum and a great scorer (albeit bad handler and playoff choker) in Jaylen Brown. KP and Horford also looks good for the rotation where the 5 is concerned. However, what in the world is KP doing with Lopez and Giannis down low on either side? On the flipside, what is Lopez doing with KP coming off a screen on the perimeter? Both teams have questions..I can't see Milwaukee beating Boston in a series rn just bc the Celts can rain threes and make it lopsided from the onset. Not to mention Jrue is not the defender today that he was then. Jimmy Butler just had multiple 40pt games a 50pt game and multiple 30pt games on Jrue. Jrue is extremely good against traditional small guards, like Dame who is 6'1...but against versatile tall players like Tatum, Brown, Butler, who can score and have good guard skills, he can't do much...Of course it's the Bucks fault as well, for pitting him against people who are out of his league (while also playmaking and scoring) because atm they didn't have anyone better. You can't defend against a 6'7-6'9 wing player with a 6'3 guard like Jrue and expect great results. I'm saying this because after he got destroyed by Butler in the playoffs, people were suddenly calling him trash. Even so, i still think the Dame trade, makes the Bucks a lot better as a team.

Three things. First, this series is going to seven. There's no way around that. These are two hungry powerhouses that only care about winning it all. Second, the Celtics have so much to prove that it's hard to see them falling barring some insane turn off events, because there's too much at risk if they lose. Third, if their series is to decide who gets to play the Heat, this will be the most entertaining playoff series we've had in a WHILE.

Celtics have the personnel edge, I think. They're very deep. But the Bucks are dangerous. My opinion: let 'em play, and may the best team win. Assuming they can get that matchup in the playoffs. They might not. Stuff can happen. Another conference team could get hot. Injuries could happen. If we could know outcomes in advance, we wouldn't have a reason to watch the games, now would we? Lillard in the series , was the only top player, holiday had AD, lillard has Giannis now , If holiday goes on lillard now Giannis is going to be the primary ball handler and lillard will go off ball , Giannis is going to cook the brown and Tatum they can’t defend him, the Celtics have traded the two guys who tried and their best to stop Giannis in the paint 2 seasons ago in the playoffs while Giannis was still dropping points , Holiday was dropping bricks 🧱 after bricks 🧱 in that series and it still went 7 games. If I exchange holiday for lillard in that series even without Middleton,Milwaukee would advance, Good the Celtics improved on the perimeter defense by acquiring Holiday, but their post defense has taken a massive hit, KP is not enough to defend Giannis ,brook Lopez,Bobby Portis in the post, from the preseason AJ junior the rookie for the Bucks is a damn good perimeter defender and he’s big enough to guard wings, Payne and Tyty are good defensive point guards too. It’s going to be a fun series

hey there, The Bucks got the offensive upgrade with Dame, and the team looks destined to ride towards the stratosphere. But, the only way I can describe the C's is, scary as hell. A defensive minded team with high offensive power added one the best defensive PG's in the past years to pair with a unicorn. Tatum looks cruising to either an MVP or a scoring title. Brown got his legendary bag. White is playing awesome basketball. Both teams will throw countless haymakers on each other during matchups, but ... I see the edge going to the Celtics favor. Anyway, what I'm sure of is that, the road to top in both conferences will be a blood bath. All that I'm looking for is ... a sixth banner in the Oracle. And I believe it's on the way. Best wishes.

He went off last year i think hes finally coming into his own and on a team where hes actually held accountbale i think hell be good. And literally no nba players win championships at the age of 25 when theyre the stars on the team. But they keep getting better and eventually theyll break threw. And i think this is that year for the jays. I really dont see milwaukee being that much better than they have always been. Giannis is a beast but hes managable becuase he cant shoot for shit. Middleton gets worse every year and dame doesnt even wanna be in milwaukee hes already complaining and the season hasnt even started yet i dont have that much faith in them

I think Jrue will play great defense in this hypothetical series, but to say he would “eat Dame up” is a vast overstatement. Dame averaged 7ppg more last year than the year he played in the Pelicans/Blazers series, and he didn’t have a big man in the same stratosphere as Giannis. The problem every team in the NBA will have to deal with is that both Dame and Giannis require the entire defense’s attention in order to stop them. The strategy to stop Giannis is either build a wall, or put a guy on the perimeter guarding him, another guy around the free throw line to step in, and a paint defender. When the Bucks won the finals, shooters made their shots and the “wall” didn’t work at all. The only reason it worked (a little) the last two years was because the bucks had way too many guys shooting any possible three and weren’t making them. Griffin has stated his goal is to only shoot good threes, and along with that, Jrue was left wide open the last two years because he couldn’t shoot in the playoffs, which allowed defenses to double or triple Giannis on every play. Now replace Dame with Jrue, and you’re talking about two guys who require all of the defenses attention, perfectly complimenting each others play style so that if one is defended, the other will be open or at worst have a 1v1 opportunity. Neither dame nor Giannis has had that chance in their entire careers and yet they both averaged 30ppg+ last season- this is the first time two players averaged 30+ ppg and then became teammates the next year. That take also doesn’t take into account that Jrue did get exposed by Butler last playoffs because he’s a beast and the Heat had great screens and movement. That’s what the Bucks will have this year, and it’s scary to think what that will mean for any team attempting to slow them down.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain how a team defends the Celtics... All this talk about how the Celtics can defend the opposing teams but at the end of the day those teams also need to defend the Celtics. KP is the third option, and unlike when he was the "second" option on the Mavs, he won't be told to sit in the corner to shoot corner threes. Carlisle really didn't try maximize his strengths and the Mavs were playing the Luka show. But how do you stop a Tatum/KP pick and roll? Giannis cant guard both of them. Brook can't defend 20+ ft from the basket. Not to mention you'll have 35+% career average three point shooters waiting for the rotations. No one seems to talk about that. You have a tandem of Brown and Tatum who have been to 4 ECFs and the finals and are battle tested despite the rhetoric about discipline. If you need to talk about discipline then go focus your attention on Embiid who hasn't made it out of the second round despite being deemed a "top 5" player and an "MVP". What people also fail to realize is that despite Dame having the reputation for clutch shots, its actually Tatum who leads the league in that stat the last 6 years. 155 players have attempted 25+ FG to tie or take the lead in the final 24 seconds (reg and playoffs combined) and Tatum ranks 1st with a 51.7% FG percentage. Most playoff points in that time period also goes to Tatum (for all those who talk about bricks while cherry picking games to talk about). I hope we're fortunate to see these two in the conference finals. That is the ECF everyone wants and the debate will get settled there. It will be so much fun to watch and I do believe who ever wins it will win the championship this year. As good as the other teams got in the West, I just don't think they're on par with the Bucks or Celtics this year. I think losing Bruce Brown really hurts the Nuggets but they still have Jokic and Murray... Do they take the foot off the gas since they won a championship? I think they do. I just don't think Jokic cares about being an all time great even though he has the skills to be one. The Suns lost a lot of key players and I think their defense will be suspect. They'll be able to iso the hell out of everyone though! They'll be fun to watch. Ultimately, I'm extremely curious to see what Dame does next to the best teammate he's ever had. It will unlock a lot for him. Maybe that Dame/Giannis combo will be too lethal, or maybe the Celts took another step and the addition of Jrue and KP unlocks JT and JB. Fun season ahead!
