Many people had no idea this car existed. My story: I visited my local Dodge dealer back in 1974 and I was looking at the brand new Demon 340 out on the lot. I was also collecting dealer brochures when I would visit. I decided I could not afford the $4500 price tag, but I DID manage to grab a sales brochure on my way out. It was NONE OTHER then the Hang Ten !! Still have it on file to this day 🙂. Thanks for the video / memory!

I'm a little confused, garysmith. The Demon ended production in '72. Beginning in '73, Dodge made the Dart Sport(renamed). In '74 Plymouths and Dodges had a 360. The first year of a Hang 10 was mid model year in '74. Did you see a '72 Demon, new and unsold on the dealer's lot in 1974?

@@dangeroreilly2028 HA! Well, it was a long time ago and most likely 1973 and the Demon was a left over '72. I ended up working at an Olds dealer and special ordered a '73 Omega. I could not afford many options, but certainly went for the 350 and the Q-Jet. Bench seats and a 3 speed floor shift. Full wheel covers because the superstock wheels and the automatic pushed my budget. Kept that a year, then moved onto a Cutlass (124 limited/special model) - swivel buckets. Same 350, but TRUE dual exhaust. Had the handling package as the 442, but without the 455 mill. It was the year before the cats came and everything was dumped into one pipe. Now, I think I got that all straight 😅.

@@dangeroreilly2028 Yes, well, sorry 'bout that. Anyway, today, I am a happy owner of a 1997 Gen 3 SHO. I have owned the car for 25 years now. Registered as antique and insured through Hagerty. People laughed at these back in the day. But, at the car shows now vs. back then, there isn't anyone laughing (O: So, yes, still into the cars.🙂 On Mopars, they were some of my favs for sure, the adds in the mags were outrageous! Fun stuff.

We had one my father bought but it had the 225-6 and 74' was a poor year for that motor thanks to all of the emissions bogging it down. Use to idle on and backfire and turning it off!
