Everyone has a diet and should maintain a sustainable diet compared to their calorie expenditure. Starvation diets and fad diets are the real problem. Quick fix instant gratification culture is the bigger issue

She was comparing that not because of the job, but the importance of the job. Women in the workplace have important jobs that we are not focused on because we’re so busy focusing on losing weight. How can we do our jobs as well if all of our energy and mind power is focused somewhere else?

true. so many men suffer from diet culture. it's just that statistically women are more subject to negative body images, and are encouraged to go on dangerously restrictive diets and are congratulated when they look like a twig about to die off at any second. comparatively, most men are encouraged to look more muscular, stronger, bigger going on food choices that allow for a lot of good protein. not saying that bodybuilding can't create body dysmorphia and food restriction, but the intensity definitely varies.

I'm sure that you had good intentions but you can be both at the same time. You can be succesful and on a diet. Losing weight takes me only a bit of time and energy. Measuring food/calorie counting takes only a few minutes everyday. I make my meal plans every 3 days, creating one takes 10 minutes. Cooking takes more time but i would be doing that anyway if i didn't want to starve to death. Workout takes half an hour, and you don't need to do that everyday. So you still have a plenty of time and energy to pursue your other, more important goals.
