I love this! I started mindful eating and have lost 8 pounds already. I no longer eat because its "time to eat" I eat when I am hungry. I have slowed down during my meals and found that I am fuller sooner than thought thus leaving food on my plate which I would have devoured before. Certain meals fill me up more which results in me "skipping" meals because I am simply not hungry at that time. Before this, I couldn't actually say the last time I felt hunger pains which was kinda scary.

I lost 10 lbs in about 2-3 months which I haven't been able to do in 20 years. Started with simple intermittent fasting 12-16 hours a day "fasting" with most of it being sleeping. So when I did eat I was actually hungry. I adjusted the hunger so I would eat before I was ravenous, but hungry enough to have a good appetite and really enjoy what I was eating. I was able to lose weight, enjoy my food more without overly restricting what I eat. I slept better and my body appreciates it.

I agreed with 75% of this. But this talk neglects and forgets about many populations in the world who are food insecure and don't have the luxury of making foods "from scratch" or even have access to a variety of foods. Let's not demonize processed foods and use phrases like "real food" to suggest that "fake food" is a thing.

You're absolutely smart and beautiful, it makes so much natural to watch the video Your enthusiasm talking about this topic can be felt vividly, it's pretty obvious you've experienced the horrible side of being overweight which completely destroys self-esteem. I've never been noticeably overweight but i was. i decided to put an end to it, I lost 44 pounds once which I got some of them back over the years just like you said. All in all it Was worth it, it requires a huge amount of will power so you get unknown benefits afterwards (More commitment with your life goals, because you KNOW you can make it. You have proof right?) So to sum up, I love you seem so happy to share this information you actually KNOW WORKS. I could just feel that emotion for a moment (I'm very very empathetic sometimes) it made me smile Great video!! Thank u!! Mesmerizing

I agree with this but I think some processing is ok…..I stick to minimal ingredient method. Some processed things, especially if they are made from real food….is totally fine. Its all the fake sugars and sugar alcohols that aren’t great

The arugument about animals not overeating is bad. When present, they will overeat a lot. For example, lions will eat 90lbs in one meal. The problem is scarcity and battle for food. Obease wild animals do exist.
@gabi37422 жыл бұрын
yeah. i like her message, but this example was exactly the opposite of what she meant 😭

What wild animals exactly are you talking about that are obese?
@Areliagh Жыл бұрын
Veganism is not a diet. You can't "fail" at it, you either do it for the animals or you don't. It just hasn't anything to do with dieting.

Correction. Vegan is not a diet. She should have said “plant based”

The idea of intuitive eating just doesn't make sense to me. An obese person who became obese due to their food consumption got to that point by eating intuitively and the obviously abide by the rule of dropping any goal of losing weight. It just doesn't make sense that you tell an obese person to eat intuitively without any coaching on WHAT to eat. It's also why I don't get the hate for CiCo. Anyone who criticizes it assumes people are just eating a Twinkie and Big Mac a day and that's it. The reality is that you're eating a ton more food than you otherwise would because of how few calories are in the foods that you should be eating (hint: it's not in the standard american diet). And another reason diets don't work is because most people go back to eating how they were before. They don't diet, lose the weight, then make the requisite lifestyle change. So the premise of Intuitive Eating is that diets don't work because you gain the weight back. The reality is that you don't gain the weight back if you make the requisite choice to change your diet from what you previously had. It's all a scam and people should be ashamed. It's akin to delivering alcohol to an alcoholic because you hope they will learn to drink in moderation.

Obese people get obese from binge eating disorder and overeating. Those are mental challenges and when they overcome them with intuitive eating (not eating past full), their body will naturally come down in weight.
@damaris20852 жыл бұрын
I disagree, most people eat due to being emotional eaters. Meaning, that if they are sad they will eat to feel better, if happy they will eat to celebrate. Emotions have a direct correlation with overeating.

Wait, so you're saying I can go eat McDonald's a few times a day, as long as I'm hungry? That's great because the chemical make-up of their food actually MAKES me more hungry. Thanks!
