I really like the thought they put into the kitchen with a wall of windows so who ever is cooking doesn’t miss out on the view during the travels. There’s many other things I liked but that stood out the most to me.

For more than 25 years and without knowing anything about boats I had the idea of buying an old military ship to convert it into a private boat like a yacht, my idea was born thinking about the enormous price that large yachts have and how difficult it is to pay that sum, but I see that a second-hand military vehicle can become a private yacht AND WITH A MILITARY STYLE THAT IS GREAT, after all my idea was not so bad hahaha, I think a budget of no more than 300 thousand euros it is enough to buy and condition a small military ship but in good condition of course since buying scrap is not worth it One question, dude, how much would this vehicle that you show in this video cost in euros? Do you know of any warehouse of disused military ships where you can see and buy some? I have seen the yards of abandoned small yachts and small boats where they can be bought for very little money. Does the same thing happen with military vehicles? Cheers ;)

The Ministry of Defence has a team of personnel who look after the sale of decommissioned warships and auxiliary vessels. Funnily enough, I was checking out their inventory the other day. They have frigates, supply ships and 27ft RIBs for sale. Imagine buying a frigate and converting that 😱

_John Wayne's_ yacht was a WWII minesweeper. His son still owns and sails it out of Newport Beach California. I want a _Destroyer._
@rickhaigwood10795 ай бұрын
@@nautifella 😂🤣😂 Sorry, I don;t mean to laugh....However, be prepared to have to pay a crew of at least 12-16 engineering crew times 3 watches per day....a crew of at least 9 in the galley so you can feed both your passengers AND crew (Mid-Rats included).....a crew of at least 6-9 for 3 bridge watches per day..........and at least 10-15 deck/service crew for the passengers I did 12 years in the Navy and was on two Adams Class destroyers, DDG-16 and DDG-20 and we had crews of around 160 just to keep them afloat. I realize you could delete the GMs, FCTs and most of the other twidgets and weapons guys but that would still be about 100 or so crew needed for THREE watches (4 on and 8 off EVERY DAY UNDERWAY) just to run and maintain all of the systems to run the bridge watches, navigate your course and man the below decks in the two engine rooms and two fire rooms (1200 lb fuel oil fired boilers!!) just to keep the screws turning and to keep the lights on (four 750 KW steam turbine generators and two main switchboards)....... not to mention the sounding and security roving watch and damage control central watchstanders to be a backup to the bilge and void monitoring just in case your bilge alarms failed or a pipe or valve ruptured in an unmaned space without an alarm..... Even the more recent FFG-7 class frigates (I was on FFG--8) that are gas turbine powered and highly automated took 160 crew members. Take away the weapon system guys it would still take about 100 crew members to run and maintain it in a good and safe operating condition.....Besides, why would you want or need a 360 ft.+ ship that you could probably only reconfigure enough to carry maybe 20 or so paying passengers on?!?!??? I was fortunate enough to have visited more than 25 different countries while I was in the Navy in both the northern and southern hemisphere....Bitter cold and scorching hot!!!........Peaceful places where we were loved (or at least our money was loved) and not so peaceful places where we were hated and shot at regularly.........It was real and it was fun......But it wasn't real fun.....LOL!!! I suggest you find a friend who is in the Navy or ask a Captain of a ship if you could go on a "dependents cruise" to see what's involved before you spend your money on a fantasy.....People say a boat is a hole in the water that you throw your money into.....Multiply that by 10,000!!!! WAY too much work and money for me!!! I'd rather have "Our Way" and spruce up the decor a little bit......and enjoy the ride. Good luck with that destroyer or frigate thing!!! It's a big bite to try and chew regardless of how much money you may have. 🤔

Morn'in Johnno, i couldn't disagree with anything you said there. cracking vessel, the interior not withstanding. Having caught your comment regarding the takeover of the builder by BAE, where does one go to find a constructor of these types of vessels? Is there a register - a library of boat builders one could go to? Or is it pot luck on the tippy-tappy and fight your way through acres of fibreglass? Croissants with honey and freshly brewed coffee this morning, mmmm!

Beautiful overall but no need for the cabins to be designed in a military style of colors. They need some oranges, reds, yellows, and browns.

Psudo-explorer, but it is heavy enough to require professional crew.. Too plush, no actual work space. low port glass that is non-ice rated.. and distinct lack of insulation for the colder regions.. Financial Plunder's Explorer and after the bankruptcy, a fair charter vessel. Also notable is this craft has to be active maintained to keep her into the wind under harsh conditions, like a lot of the super (rich) yachtes.
@grantvaneeuwen7901 Жыл бұрын
A beautiful design.... but the interior decor of furniture and color is dead. The grays are cold and depressing, the intent to either industrialize or look military? I love the hull and superstructure design.... but again the interior lacks warmth of natural woods and color.

If she were mine, I would guess any women onboard would appreciate a softer touch in the guest cabins and the main saloon. It's nice, neat, and simple now, but with such a hard looking exterior, she should have a slightly softer more colorful interior. I like the range, and the price sounds reasonable. Thanks John, well done.

The interior design leaves a lot to be desired. The wood paneling sucks, carpets on the floors?, lack of color, and on and on. Please hire an acredited design consultant next time.
