I admire how much you bring up Emerson. I first heard about him from your videos on life-changing books and I bought his works & now he is by far my favorite writer! He was truly a wise, eclectic mind, and every time I read his writings I tend to contemplate on life's universal truths.

I came across your channel just a few days ago, and I have to say, it’s easily the best one I’ve found on KZbin. I’m a 17-year-old who’s stepped away from society for the past six months to prepare for one of the toughest exams in the world-only 400 out of 1.5 million make it through. And yet, I’ve been enjoying every bit of this journey so much that the outcome no longer matters to me. It’s as if the process itself has become the reward, and because of that, these months of preparation have turned into one of the best periods of my life. Now, I feel completely indifferent to the result, content to immerse myself in what I study, simply for the joy of learning. Your content has made this experience even richer for me, adding value to each step of the way. I just wanted to thank you, Sir, for that. May you find peace and clarity today, and continue to strive to act with wisdom and integrity.

Your ability to think that way as a teenager is inspiring. I might be coming from a place of ignorance and risking some offense saying that, but I do believe teenage is generally associated with rash thought processes and decisions. Stay committed to the path of self awareness. With an early start, your development won't know any limits. Good luck with your exam!

It blows my mind how the divine timing works. This video came up right after I thought that I should quit watching "these kind of videos" on youtube and think for myself. After watching this video, I realized that I don't like the way I was looking at educating myself spiritually and psichologicaly. I can quit watching videos and think for myself, or I can educate myself, but be aware of what resonates with me in the video and take it with me, or I can listen, and if it doesn't resonate, yey, I have heard someone's perspective but here I can think for myself. Both ways I advance. But I prefer educating myself and being in a community,. Wanted to share, fits the theme. Thank you so much for this video. Sensational perspective that I'm taking with me. Can't wait to explore your content!

There is a stoic technique to say “fate permitting” when we state our desires. Like “I want a promotion, fate permitting”. This makes us acknowledge the impact of externals on our desires on a mindset level. Religions do this with “god willing” and “inshallah”

This is similar to an islamic concept called "Qadaa' & Qadr" -literally translating to Predestination & Divine Destination, it's a fancier way to designate Past & Future Fate. Surrender, acceptance, and submission to Qadaa' & Qadr is one of the 7 cornerstones of imaan (meaning belief). It means you believe that once your will and efforts enacted, God (or the Universe) would act in your favor, and that whatever fate insues from it, itwould be good in some way, either serving as a lesson or stepping stone to something greater. As timely and as poignant as usual. Keep up the good work!

An Emerson quote that stuck with me: “Society never advances. It recedes as fast on one side as it gains on the other. It undergoes continual changes; it is barbarous, it is civilized, it is christianized, it is rich, it is scientific; but this change is not amelioration. For every thing that is given, something is taken." I mention it here because the temporal world seems fundamentally paradoxical and absurd to me (which is why this quote stuck in my head), and in light of this view I do find it difficult to have expectations to a large extent. I do have expectations and hope for realizing a fuller, more "spiritual" existence (ie. without paradox) at some point but I don't have much hope for that expectation coming to fruition on Earth.

I needed to hear this because I am angry, resentful and sad about the fact that I only wanted my elderly mother and I to have one of the best times of our lives by taking her to her first international trip to Europe but it ended badly because a month before our trip she had a mini stroke that led her to become disabled. I still pushed for it so on our second week she broke her hip when I left her waiting for thirty minutes. It never occurred to me that someone disabled was still going to break a bone! I lost her 4 months after her operation.

Isn't it natural to expect a little care & love..honesty & trust in return if they claim a special place in my heart? I remember i cried my heart out everytime my dad forgot to wish me on my birthday.. i felt hurt. Because i expected? Of course i will.. i don't wanna overburden anyone with a lot of expectations but we can't deny the little things of life affect us. I consoled myself thinking may be he is getting older.. but i know he loves me a lot. After thinking like this in every situation whether it's my dad or friends or anyone i believe i've learnt to respond better. But i cry alone & just pretend it's alright 😂 Bdw i have just started reading a book called "Nausea" by Jean Paul Sartre. As i always say, your videos are so effective & inspiring. I've heard a similar idea, expressed as "don't be attached to the outcome." Yes I want this, but the "journey" - be that writing a book, or making a new friend, or starting a business - the act of doing those things, participating in those things, should be its own reward. Interesting and enjoyable. That way, we are going about enjoying ourselves, exploring our universe, and if our desires and expectations do come true it's a bonus.

We are allowed to, and should, have ambitions and expectations, and of course opinions (because the two former concepts cannot exist without the latter). However, we need not concern ourselves with the outcomes of such endeavours - if we do our “best” with the resources and knowledge we have at our disposal. The outcomes are ultimately decided by the Universe; whichever name with which you choose to refer to “it.” ✌🏼💜🙏🏼
