Even if you’re not trying to learn a new skill for a job, it’s also a great resource for just personal enrichment!

I do their courses. Yes, they are free but if you want the certificate it’s like $110 or something. I think it’s awesome!! I did it and I’m still doing it. I’ve told a lot of people about it. I went back in to look. The CS course without cert is free, with cert is $219 now. But they have a number of other courses that you can take. Just my opinion, but I still think it’s worth it.
@snowangel921009 күн бұрын
That's pretty cool. I didn't know they had a get the certificate option, and $110 from Harvard? I might do this while waiting for the spring semester.
@tammiealexander71029 күн бұрын
@@snowangel92100 Yeah. After you sign up, a little later, they give you the option to get the cert. It not expensive at all. I’ve done the CS and working on Python now.
@shecell3218 күн бұрын
Did you get the certificate ? Has it helped you land new opportunities or negotiate salary? Or do you simply just mentioned the course but don’t need the certificate ?
@tammiealexander71028 күн бұрын
@@shecell321 Yes, I got the certificate and yes, I’ve been moving my way up through tech. Actually, my plan is to start a consulting firm between now and early next year. I’m working on getting a few more certifications to get myself into position.
@tammiealexander71028 күн бұрын
@@shecell321 please do not look at me, how far I’ve gotten and what I’ve done. My experiences are my own. All of the training I’m doing. The certifications I’m getting. They fit my purposes. I also started posting articles on LinkedIn, building network connections for the directions I’m going. Talking to people. Asking questions and listening. The certifications are only piece of the pie. I’ve put out over 268 applications. I got interviews. I went back and got my masters. I’m learning cloud, Linux, coding, and other things. I’m reading and researching. I contact recruiters at companies and talk to them. Asking questions. Telling them about me. Even if they aren’t hiring. Maybe you’re doing all of that and more. I don’t know. I’m just saying that the pie is bigger than just getting certificates behind your name. They will only get you so far. Hope this helps.

The free content available to grow your skills/knowledge is truly unprecedented compared to any time in history. Lots of top universities offer lectures like this. A card with your local library and other free online materials can also assist.

So you don’t get college credit, but you do get the knowledge. You can, at some institutions, pay a fee and get a certificate for passing the course.

MIT Courseware is an old-school approach. It is 100% free. The Harvard free courses are hosted on a for-profit platform. They are only free by auditing. But you can earn a certificate for pay.

Are those Van Cleef knock-off earrings? Because the real ones are so exorbitantly expensive & Van Cleef's client list is basically by invitation only. I've only seen their jewelry on Kate Middleton, if that gives you an idea about their exclusivity.

It’s not worth anything because you get no degree or certificate afterwards. There are better resources out there if you’re learning how to code, and half of your “learning” comes from doing.
