Eddie always wants to continue playing with the intensity we have at full strength. IMO that's just silly when you have so many injuries and some players playing with injuries. Eddie seems unwilling to change formation & tactics during a game to improve our play & chances of winning - his insistence on 3 in midfield is especially annoying at times. We clearly don't have the quality in the squad that Eddie would like. If we can't strengthen this Summer due to PSR then the problems of this season could occur again next season ☹.

Near enough every manager in the world has their favourites. Klopp got pelters last season for constantly playing the likes of Jordan Henderson etc a head of other players, and yes its very frustrating for us fans, but its certainly not a sackable offence (like some fans are now suggesting).

I know what you are saying but leaving livramento on the bench most weeks ahead of the slowest player in the league is in my opinion a sackable offence. Burn has single handledly cost us so many goals and teams dont even need to prepare properly against us..keep it tight and attack dan burn and overload the back stick. Thats literally the blue print to beating us

Nice one keith, i don't think i have much to add to what you said really. To me it feels like we are coasting towards the end of the season. I'm not expecting much with our tie against city tomorrow. As pessimistic as it sounds too i'm not expecting much in the way of transfers in the summer. Finally a journalist saying it as it is... this season has been a failure due to last summers transfer window. Howe can't get away with saying longstaff was carrying an injury as he had to get another body in the January transfer window but he didn't. Maybe it's all on ashworth... who knows.... but if they get this summer wrong too then I imagine that will be it for Howe.

Dan burn cost us 2 goals against luton and got taken off. He then played him against Bournemouth the next home game he gave a goal away and got taken off for tino. Eddie clearly has a different view on what a good performance is all those times Burn was having a shocker or you knew they had a bit pace and he would get rinsed yet he still refused to play tino.

Dan burn unbalances the whole team. We have to over compensate knowing teams are relentlessly targeting him. Hes backing off to the point where hes nearly in the stand and just allowing shots or crosses with any attempt at blocking them..hes scared shitless

When Trips is back, he has to replace DB at left back. Hes played there very well for England. Tino at RB and Trips at LB would solve most of our issues. Midfield of Anderson/Miley, Willock & Bruno until the end of the season.

The lack of options is fair for most positions this season but Dan Burn is not one. Livramento has sat on that bench most weeks when everyone knew burn would be eaten alive ahead of games. Its not good enough and Eddie's stubborness will be his undoing. Dan burn is the slowest player in the PL and hes being picked every week despite costing us at least a goal a game. Ive had about enough now of Howe's loyalty to the english players

Was Longstaff's injection a sedative?! Nah, sorry, not having the Longstaff excuse that he has no alternatives. Why was he the only midfielder not subbed against Chelsea then? The guy is playing injured and not training and it impacts his performances, yet you sub off every other midfielder except him?! Doesn't make sense. Also, when he says he can't use team selection as a tool to manage under-performers it also doesn't make sense as him constantly picking his favourites while they're in a run of bad form stretches back to last season when Burn had a bad patch and kept getting selected ahead of Targett.

Signing Onana from Everton is a real possibility. If Bruno leaves for City or PSG, I could see Big Joe only staying for one more year. Onana is very powerful and robust. Solanke will replace Wilson, although I don’t want him long term. Another centre back will come in who is strong and dominant, similar to a Konate. We were interested in signing Disasi before Chelsea swooped in.

What is the point in Lewis Hall sitting on the bench let him play and let’s see if he can perform because you can’t tell if he’s any good in training games. Bring Lewis Miley back in instead of Longstaff the boy has looked Below par for a month and now we hear he’s carrying an injury so give him a rest. Almiron what to do with Miggy clearly his time at the club is coming to an end so why not give Trevino Sanusi a go, I know he’s only 16 and he might not be ready but trust me the boy is going to be a star so why not give him some minutes and reward him for him performances at the lower level

Anyone with half a braincell can tell burn , longstaff and botman have been playing consistently with injuries since xmas (as bruno did for second half of last seasom). That on top of jeolinton being patched up until he completely broke down and gordon and isak also play half cooked in some games due to lack of cover. In burn and longstaffs case they have done so selflessly to cover the hole left by tonalo, protect miley and hall (who clearly isnt ready) while we wwit for people to get back fit. Now anderson and willock are back longstaff needs a rest, thats clear. And anyone saying that nick pope’s update is a setback is not well, if you lose a keeper to a dislocated shoulder in decemeber ur not seeing him again until next season its as simple as that, its not worth the risk for a couple of games at the end of the season when he can have another 2 month recovering his shoulder (which he kind of needs to be fully functional)…. Whats cost newcastle is their transfer policy and the luck / judgement associated with it. To go into this season and basically only have livramento available to play first team football on top of the squad that started the 2022/23 season (plus gordon minus maxi shelvey and wood) where top half finish and a cup run was the exepctation is besetk. Eddie and these players should be commended for doing what theyve done snd attacking every cup the way they have, not slaughtered. What happened to the “we just want a team that tries” bollocks. Short memories thats what. Ive seen two great managers leave this club too early in keegan and robson and it doesnt go well.
