Upon arrival in Boston, the load was inspected and reloaded onto the same truck. Destination Portland OR. Reason the government did not have a qualified inspector on the West Coast. The fact of the matter is ? In Rhode Island and Massachusetts more than 50% of the fishery businesses have been put OUT of business because of the regulations that are imposed upon them ! Take your fish farms, and hit the road. Our fisheries and our waters are not your playground. It isn't just China and Vietnam behind the illegal catches and substandard products. All sorts of shady operators are involved, from places like Chile, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, and elsewhere. An Australian Fisheries patrol vessel chased a Chilean fishing vessel halfway around the world in Antarctic waters, after spotting it near Heard Island. With the help of South African commandos, the fishing vessel was boarded and seized.

I'm curious is that because US has not yet signed the UNCLOS ( UN conventions on Laws of the 'Sea') treaty which provides 225 Nautical miles of Exclusive Economic Zone of the Littoral State to develop fisheries and mining resources and other assorted economic activity? Does that fact give foreign trawlers and fishing fleets to freely operate within 225 NM from US coastline ? Are there US based trading companies that buy catch from foreign fishing fleets are low prices and sell within US markets at huge markup ? They have an interest in maintaining that status quo.

Growing up on Long Island, New York I can remember a time that their was a seafood restaurant and fish store almost on every corner. Now its almost impossible to get fresh seafood or buy it. What's said its our own Government that has destroyed our fishing industry.
