NORTHERN TOOL + EQUIPMENT now carries Rockler wood working tools! As we quickly approach the finish carpentry phase of our home build I decided to start setting up a proper basement workshop. This should help to make a lot of the upcoming work easier to accomplish, especially with the help of the DustRIGHT 1250 CFM Dust Collector from Rockler.

My brother, who's a sheet metal HVAC guy, made me some large funnels that I mounted wherever the sawdust shoots out from the blade for each machine. Then a tee goes on the suction tube and one goes to the saw and the other to the funnel, works great. Excellent video.

up grade this vac , run hose thru a 55 gallon drum first , as the fine dust exiting the bag will get to you
@tptwk
@tptwk 3 жыл бұрын
You need to support the bag with a table shelf or lower the blower so the bag is on the ground. It will get extremely heavy when it is full of saw dust and stress your lag screws.

I added a rubber flap behind the blade which helps direct the dust into the collector. I also built a box behind and added a shop vac. You're not alone as with most collection systems, they can't capture dust very well from a miter saw. Look at your video and I'm sure you'll see most of the dust going right past the collector and all over from there. A rubber deflector and catch box will solve that perfectly. It's a nice system just needs help for the miter saw. Great content as always - stay safe. House is looking very nice!

Congrats on getting into dust collection. I have a larger freestanding laguna pflux 1.5hp dust collector and cyclone (with hepa filter). One of the other things you should definitely look into is additional freestanding fan/filters to help pull out all the airborne dust. I have used and highly recommend those 20" box fans with 2" thick hepa filters that the fans pull the air through. I have one of those fancy dylos air quality meters and that shows two of the box fan/filter setups really keeps my garage dust down for the small particles.

Your next addition should be a Fosmon C-10683 Wireless Remote Control Outdoor Electrical Outlet (Amazon, $13.) Plug the dust colledtion into the "outlet" and carry the remote arouind the shop with you. Also, since you're relatively new to this area, you might not know about the Klingspor Woorworking Shop in Hickory.

Hey, I've been following your channel for maybe over half a year and I very much enjoy the content. I dont want my comment to appear negative! I just learned about doors when leaned against a wall vertically WILL bow over time (days depending on construction). I don't know if they were just put there temporarily or just in between the process of moving them but I'd hate to see your very beautiful work bowed like I seen in another youtube video. Keep up the great content!

I've been shopping at Northern from near their inception, If I recall, it started as Northern tools and Hydraulics. Unfortunately there isn't a store near me since I moved so I do occasionally online shop and when I'm near a store, I will go there.

Why didn't you use the extra light to brighten up the corner by the wiring panel? You could even put it on that wall instead of the side wall with those wire harnesses.

you might want a (i think its called a cyclone not sure but) its basically a plastic lid for a garbage pail that has a in port and out port on it that you plug in you big hose to it and then another hose out to your tool for using anything bigger then sanding dust otherwise you'll be emptying the bag often. especially if using a planer. it allows the bigger stuff to dump itself in the barrel before having to travel through the longer hose and fill up your bag quickly. it also doesn't seem to reduce power of the collector as much as if you make it suck the shavings all the way to the bag. its not expensive like under $20 and fits most round garbage barrels. another must have In my opinion is a spare bag and anything you can use as a plug for the bag. i found that often times when you least expect it and need the dust collector the most is when a hole decides to appear in the bag then filling up the air with blowing dust. now the cap is anything that fits in the opening if the bag. i made mine out of wood. i like to plug the bag when going to empty it outside so if i set it down to open the door or bump or drop it the fine dust doesn't come out
