I had this pain for a long time, then it got worse, so I had to go get an MRI, and found out. I sit at my computer and would jump up, run out the door and run 600 feet up a hill, without warming up, and I am about 60+. Well, I had torn the tendon half way. I chose, no surgery and could not deal with the foot brace. I walked around my home in baby steps and over months took bigger steps. I healed it myself and know now to warm up first.

Wow just did this and I feel great thank you mane. I’m a runner and my left leg has been hurting whenever I run. It usually hurts for the first 5-7 min while running then goes away. Now I can move on the ball of my feet with no pain . Thanks

My LEFT achilles is the problem, and I figured is was caused by my mowing my yard with a self-propelled lawn mower when the grass was knee high, at my age, 76. The RIGHT tendon isn't affected because in my life I have played piano professionally for college music departments for 60 years and the piano pedal work made my RIGHT tendon very strong, but not my LEFT - also I have driven a car since age 16. These exercises are very helpful: thanks!

Doing a cross friction massage increases the blood flow in that area and loosens it up a bit. It helps with healing process a bit aswell

I am in the same boat. I have been squatting and deadlifting alot which have been helpful. I do get intermittent achilles tendonitis since my ankle injury. If I run too often it flares up. Also been doing calf raises which help alot.

can i explain what i get ? so this typically happens when i walk for a certain time nothing too far maybe after like 5 min this starts happening i get this discomfort on the bottom of my foot in the middle and it goes up to a little above my ankle on the side of my left leg right above the side ankle which i notice a lump that happens it gets very tight and hard could this just be the way i walk ? i do not get alot of mobility , im overweight what can help this ? or any ideas why this happens ? i walk around the house fine but it’s just when i go long distance walking when it becomes a problem never get swollen by itself always with walking ONLY

But I only found out from internet with this type of treatment, I should do early weight bearing training from week 2. I will be on my moon boot for another 2 weeks,could you please let me know, am I too late to start that weight bearing training now? 🤕

What about extensor tendon pain? (I have weak tendons in my right ankle due to a growth plate fracture when I was 8). It often HURTS - CBD cream seems to be the only thing to stop the paid- id LOVE to prevent it tho!

That’s why many massage therapists love to utilize hot rocks. Simple: find a smooth kinda pointy rock that fits nicely in hand. (Boiled & hot is better.) Then do as Bob said. Works!

All you gotta do is this but it requires the opposite foot…. Get your other foot use the big toe and the toe beside it and use it to pinch squeeze the tendon on the opposite foot and it feels so good. Depends.. make sure the tendon area is soft by not lifting your feet to high or too low .. if your feet all the way high you can’t grip the tendon with the other toe!!!

Fasting gets rid of inflammation. Cardio without ankle motion, helps with healing and inflammation. Stretch your shins, don’t stretch the Achilles tendon.

I’m so happy you posted this. I have been having pain in both my heels for about a year and a half now. I haven’t been to a doctor for it but the description of the pain for heel spurs or plantar ficitis just don’t make sense. Each morning I wake up and my heels are so sore and feel bruised, even if I had an easy day. This morning, I tried this out of curiosity after being awake for about 50 minutes. My heels don’t hurt. Whaaaat!?!? Explain yourself mister fixer. Please!!

I don’t see many recommendations to strengthen your calves and legs. Forget the massages, they don’t help healing. Spend that time strength training. Then either walk or run (pain free) to aid healing. If you can’t walk or run pain free, change your shoes and get a high heel to toe drop shoe to take pressure off the Achilles until it heals. This is a 12 week process for most people. If you don’t strengthen your legs, you will never totally solve the problem. #experienced

Weird. That’s exactly the problem I’ve been having. 15 years ago I tore up my Achilles as I misstepped coming down the stairs.Took several years but gradually it became somewhat normal. Though i feel it never quite healed proper. But these last few months out of nowhere it’s been flaring up on me. I can walk on it okay but any kind of more prolonged intense pressure like jogging or running is out of the question. I’ll try this whenever I get the chance. Maybe it’ll help.

It's been a year & 2 months since then but now I have Tendinopathy very bad... I just gave up on the doctors in our side because in our side medical is not very good..... @@SuperEpicman9Yes. It has helped me, only i use some oil or lotion to make it less painful. I do this and i gently step on a tennis bowl with the top of my foot and try to bring the heel down to the floor as much as possible

The day that this problem happened I couldn’t walk nor standup. Even worse is when i lay down it hurts as well. I had this pain for 4 months. Both pain from inside and outside part of my ankle. I don’t even know how to get rid of this
