Not sure if mentioned, but don't forget to release the handbrake! otherwise if you force the drum off, you'll shear a retainer clip by the piston & leak fluid :/

And, while it would seem obvious, choc tyres and release handbrake otherwise the drum will be locked in place.

just received a $1100 quote to replace everything (both drums, cylinder assemblies, brake shoe set) due to "water and sand" buildup... literally been on the beach 3 times and few a few mud puddles so this is great to see for future.

Definite weak point in the jimny design... shame really as they're a hell of an off-road truck!
