Thanks so much for showing these wonderful pics...Born in IOM just as ww2 broke out. Left the Island to conquer the world at 16...never suceeded....Love the old pics, I do remember the places and the wonderful people..often wonder why I left !!!!. EU is not the best place now...maybe I should go home.

@@cherryred1732 Hello. I lived just around the corner from Gellings Foundry in Ridgeway Street above the wholsale fruit shop of Thos Keyes, next door to the Herald Office and Jennings & Clucas. Opposite was the wonderful Public Library where the ladies were so kind to me as a child with an interest in science and making things that they allowed me to have books without a ticket !!! wonderful memories indeed...Take care Cherry☺

@@georgestyer2153 yes remember the names. I used to do some part time work cutting keys. Repairs locks ect at gellings foundry mostly on Saturdays. Remember the lovely old type genuine people there. Ron halstead. George kermode les kinrade. Don't find people like this much today. The old original doolish fire brigade at john street. Lovely memories of better times.

made me cry...how I long fpr the olden days in Isle of man with my Auntie Hannah and Irene, sleeping in the attic with crisp freshly dried bed linen.... lost Mum, Dad and dear Auntie Hannah. God bless them and the happy times all over the lovely isle of Man x

Lovely to see. I grew up in the Ellan Vannin Hotel on Loch Promenade, so many a nostalgic scene.

Aye .remember john.j.bell at the milns hotel queens prom. And gellings foundry Victoria street. Remember the hotels then having mostly the old classic yale Union. Century master suited locks a keys on the rooms.
