Why so many contradictions then? For example, god is no respecter of persons and god curses people with black skin and keeps them out of the celestial kingdom. Polygamy is wrong, also polygamy is required to get into the highest level of the celestial kingdom. Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon are word for word from the King James Version of the Bible, then JS corrected those same passages in JST to no longer match what’s in the Book of Mormon. Thou shall not kill, Nephi should kill Laben. Don’t let them make you say you “know” it’s true when you actually believe or hope it to be true.

@@YogiTheBearMan Black people are not kept out of the Celestial Kingdom, polygamy is not a requirement, and a lot of things you say are twisted by either you or someone that's feeding you bad information. I'm not told what to believe, because I'm a very independent person. I just know what I've learned from the School of Hard Knocks in life and how I came back to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through the power of the Holy Spirit because when it all comes down to it, this is Jesus Christ's true church. I've learned this for myself through a lot of trial and error with other churches. Many of them are very well-meaning and good believing in the Bible but there is so much more to know. I personally don't want to be stuck in grade school when I can move forward through higher learning. You can argue with me all you want and that is fine it's your prerogative, but I have learned the truth for myself through the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is my loving Lord, Savior, and Redeemer. In the name of Jesus christ, Amen 🌻💜🙏🏼🕊🫂

Mormonism teaches you get saved by doing works instead of have a repentant heart from sin and calling on God to be merciful. They are trying to allow you to do works to act as repentance of sin in order to mitigate your guilt and fear, whereas true repentance of sin is a true surrender of the heart where you stop trying to fix the situation yourself by trying to win God’s favor as though He owes you salvation like you deserve to get paid for doing a job. @@logangilmore9544 You are very much mislead and are mimicking the same false rhetoric repeated time after time since the early days of the church. "Mormonism" does not teach that works save a person. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. We also believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. There is nothing in our doctrine that teaches that the only way to be saved is through works. If you would like to know the truth about what we believe I would be happy to introduce you to a couple of our missionaries that would love to teach you about the good news that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God who took upon himself the sins of all mankind and by Him and through Him all mankind may be saved.

The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ: "Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise." - 2 Nephi 2:8

The Book of Mormon is: Another testament of Jesus Christ. Its major writers-Nephi, Jacob, Mormon, Moroni-and its translator, Joseph Smith, were all eyewitnesses of the Lord. A record of His ministry to people who lived in ancient America. True, as attested by the Lord Himself. The Book of Mormon affirms: The individual identity of Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. The necessity of the Fall of Adam and the wisdom of Eve, that men might have joy. The Book of Mormon refutes notions that: Revelation ended with the Bible. Infants need to be baptized. Happiness can be found in wickedness. Individual goodness is adequate for exaltation (ordinances and covenants are needed). The Fall of Adam tainted mankind with “original sin.” The Book of Mormon fulfills biblical prophecies that: “Other sheep” shall hear His voice. God will do “a marvelous work and a wonder,” speaking “out of the dust.” The “stick of Judah” and the “stick of Joseph” will become one. Scattered Israel will be gathered “in the latter days” and how that will be done. The land of inheritance for the lineage of Joseph is the Western Hemisphere. The Book of Mormon clarifies understanding about: Our premortal existence. Death. It is a necessary component of God’s great plan of happiness. Postmortal existence, which begins in paradise. How the resurrection of the body, reunited with its spirit, becomes an immortal soul. How our judgment by the Lord will be according to our deeds and the desires of our hearts. How ordinances are properly performed: for example, baptism, sacrament, conferring the Holy Ghost. The Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Resurrection. The important role of angels. The eternal nature of priesthood. How human behavior is influenced more by the power of the word than the power of the sword. The Book of Mormon reveals information previously unknown: Baptisms were performed before Jesus Christ was born. Temples were built and used by people in ancient America. Joseph, 11th son of Israel, foresaw the prophetic role of Joseph Smith. Nephi (in 600-592 BC) foresaw the discovery and colonizing of America. Plain and precious parts of the Bible have been lost. The Light of Christ is given to each person. The importance of individual agency and the need for opposition in all things. Warnings about “secret combinations.”

Where else do you find the Gospel pray tell? The Book of Mormon doesn’t count because it’s a gospel of works and no salvation in Jesus. The Mormons gospel is about what you can do to become a exalted god, instead what Jesus can do for you. Isn’t that correct? Didn’t the early Apostles preached the Gospel without there being a Bible because they were witnesses of Jesus death and resurrection and told others? Isn’t the Bible a recorded record of the Gospel? Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things. If you’re struggling for whatever reason, listen to Hugh B Brown: Profile of a Prophet. The Book of Mormon IS the word of God. It brings me joy that we will ALL eventually know that. Doesn’t mean you have to accept it then but it’s unlikely you wouldn’t. Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten of our Heavenly Father. Only through Christ may we return to live with our Heavenly Father. I’m grateful for the testimony I have, the covenants I’ve made and received. To say God doesn’t speak to us anymore through Prophets is saying that God has left us to interpret the Bible in infinite number of ways and without any further direction. Does that really make any sense to you? I’m sorry if it does. If you ACTUALLY read the Book of Mormon, you’d know it aligns meticulously with the Bible and can not be proven false. Thank you, President Jeffrey R. Holland.

The book of Morman is a heresy the Bible warns in Rev 22:18-19 "For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
@CalledtoShare
@CalledtoShare 3 ай бұрын
"One of the arguments often used in any defense of a closed canon is the New Testament passage recorded in Revelation 22:18: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of … this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.” However, there is now overwhelming consensus among virtually all biblical scholars that this verse applies only to the book of Revelation, not the whole Bible. Those scholars of our day acknowledge a number of New Testament “books” that were almost certainly written after John’s revelation on the Isle of Patmos was received. Included in this category are at least the books of Jude, the three Epistles of John, and probably the entire Gospel of John itself. Perhaps there are even more than these. But there is a simpler answer as to why that passage in the final book of the current New Testament cannot apply to the whole Bible. That is because the whole Bible as we know it-one collection of texts bound in a single volume-did not exist when that verse was written. For centuries after John produced his writing, the individual books of the New Testament were in circulation singly or perhaps in combinations with a few other texts but almost never as a complete collection. Of the entire corpus of 5,366 known Greek New Testament manuscripts, only 35 contain the whole New Testament as we now know it, and 34 of those were compiled after a.d. 1000. The fact of the matter is that virtually every prophet of the Old and New Testament has added scripture to that received by his predecessors. If the Old Testament words of Moses were sufficient, as some could have mistakenly thought them to be, then why, for example, the subsequent prophecies of Isaiah or of Jeremiah, who follows him? To say nothing of Ezekiel and Daniel, of Joel, Amos, and all the rest. If one revelation to one prophet in one moment of time is sufficient for all time, what justifies these many others? What justifies them was made clear by Jehovah Himself when He said to Moses, “My works are without end, and … my words … never cease.” One Protestant scholar has inquired tellingly into the erroneous doctrine of a closed canon. He writes: “On what biblical or historical grounds has the inspiration of God been limited to the written documents that the church now calls its Bible? … If the Spirit inspired only the written documents of the first century, does that mean that the same Spirit does not speak today in the church about matters that are of significant concern?” We humbly ask those same questions." - Jeffrey R. Holland / My Words Never Cease www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2008/04/my-words-never-cease?lang=eng

Okay there is a massive problem with this. He's spewing a bunch of nonsense word salad, essentially. This proves nothing about the divinity of the Book of Mormon. To quote him referring to the book of Mormon as a "heretofore unknown text" it's quite clear that the Book of Mormon was plagiarized by Joseph Smith, and the parts that are original, completely contradict the Bible. To focus on the parts of the Book of Mormon that CONTRADICT the Bible, I can provide several examples: Moroni 8:8 vs Psalm 51:5 2 Nephi 2:23-25 vs Genesis 3:16-19 1 Nephi 13:26-28 supposedly prophecies that parts of the Bible would be removed, by the time of Jesus, but how come Jesus displayed full confidence in the Scriptures throughout his life? Helaman 14:27 vs Matthew 27:45 Not to mention the LDS Church VEHEMENTLY denying the most ESSENTIAL Biblica truth, the Trinity. While it is true there is no one Bible verse that describes the Trinity (as it is engrained into the entire New Testament) The Book of Mormon ITSELF, promotes the trinity, contradicting what it's Church teaches (albeit a Modalist trinity) Being a Christian is to follow God, to follow God you have to know him, Mormons deny his triune nature, so they do not know him, so they cannot follow him, so they are not Christians. The Book of Mormon is not scripture, it contradicts itself and the Bible many times. Case closed

“As far as it translated correctly” Did Jesus translate correctly quoting from the Old Testament? “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” John 5:39-40 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, *but my words shall not pass away* .” Matthew 24:35 Correct me if I’m wrong, that you believe Jesus teachings are lost and a new book took in the place of the 4 Gospels which is know as the Book of Mormon which is the complete gospel? According to Jesus He has read the Hebrew Old Testament Torah/Tanak during His times and it wasn’t lost. “And *beginning at Moses and all the prophets* , he expounded unto them in *all the scriptures* the things concerning himself.” Luke 24:27

"Correct me if I’m wrong, that you believe Jesus teachings are lost and a new book took in the place of the 4 Gospels which is know as the Book of Mormon which is the complete gospel?" That is not what we believe. The Holy Bible is one example of scripture. It is an account of God's interactions and teachings with the people in and around the Eastern Mediterranean region before, during and after the ministry of Jesus Christ. It is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by prophets. In the Holy Bible there are miraculous stories of faith, sacrifice, trial and love. What about the people that lived beyond the geographical setting of the Bible outside the Mediterranean area? What kind of interaction did God have with them? Well, in the Bible from the Book of John, Jesus revealed to his disciples in Jerusalem “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.” Some of these other sheep to which Jesus refers are the inhabitants of the ancient Americas who lived at that time. The Book of Mormon is a compilation of the sacred writings of many generations of the people that lived there and received instruction and teachings from God. They had prophets who, just like the Bible, recorded spiritual and historical events over thousands of years and, similarly to the Bible, these stories and events were written down, collected and shared from generation to generation. They too were eventually compiled into a book. It is called the Book of Mormon: Another testament of Jesus Christ, and like the Bible, the Book of Mormon is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by God's prophets. The crowning event in the Book of Mormon is the account of Jesus Christ ministering to the other sheep as he said he would shortly after his death. After all “it is Another New Testament of Jesus Christ” which implies the previous one needed more added information. right? The other sheep is the Gentiles. Which the Disciples and Paul go to reach out the Gospel in Gentile territories. The Book of Mormon in the 1830 has Joseph Smith as the “Author and Proprietor”Then 3 years later it’s changed to translated by Joseph Smith jr.

Here’s the long and short of ancient texts, my friend. I don’t care if you bring me a 10,000-page wonder that’s supposed to have reshaped the heavens and the earth-if just one line in there sounds like it could’ve been ripped from the morning paper, guess what? That book ain’t ancient. Period. It could move spiritual mountains, but if even a whiff of it reeks of contemporary influence, it's a modern text, not some dusty ancient text. Now, here’s your homework. Take two books that both claim to be ancient: the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon. Dig into them with the sharpest tool you’ve got-skepticism. Spoiler alert: the Old Testament, under even the harshest, most anthiestic scrutiny, holds up as ancient. Whether you believe it's claim to divinity or not, it’s at least old. As for the Book of Mormon? Well, let's just say if you put it through the same meat grinder of atheist rigor, you might come out questioning its claims to antiquity.

Through Him all things were created, and there is nothing that was created except through Jesus, the Messiah. Jesus has always been God. He never was a man who achieved God hood. He's ALWAYS been God. He became a man, so that through Him we could be the sons & daughters of God. Please think. Wow, so I'm going to hell because of my limited understanding of different infinities or eternity? Look up number sets. Look up the integer set and the natural number set....both are infinite but are slightly different. You seem to be confusing God achieving godhood and us "Sitting on the right hand of God" (which is Jesus's throne, which means we have the same authority and power as Jesus...) But the cool thing is you don't believe that, so you don't need to worry about it. Which church do you go to anyway? I might want to come over and see what you are teaching as it seems 90% of it is good. I learned that we get to live with the God we want to in the afterlife. People who reject god and worship themselves will not be with god or Jesus. people who think Jesus is God and want to live with him will get to live with him. Those who want to live with the most high God will get to as long as they are loyal. The book of Enoch suggests that that isn't always the case as the Watchers screwed up.

Umm, there is no rapture before the tribulation friend. John Nelson Darby, a dispensationalist theologian, is credited with originating the rapture theory in the early 19th century. Darby's theory was based on his analysis of Bible translations in 1833. He was also a founder of the Plymouth Brethren denomination. The rapture theory is an eschatological belief in Christianity that living and deceased believers will ascend to heaven to meet Jesus Christ at the Second Coming. It became popular among Christians who are interested in the end times, especially after being included in study Bibles like the Scofield Reference Bible in 1909. The theory was also featured in popular books like Hal Lindsey's The Late Great Planet Earth in 1970. The word "rapture" doesn't appear in the Bible, but the theory draws on apocalyptic texts from the Christian scriptures, including Revelation and the prophet Daniel. Most Christian denominations don't subscribe to the theory and have different interpretations of the aerial gathering described in 1 Thessalonians 4.
