I'm in love with a friend of mine and I've asked God to remove my feelings for him, but He won't. I kept asking God what the purpose was and now I think I know. Since I've been battling these feelings, I've grown ten-fold in God. I've learned to trust God more, I've dug deeper into the Word and I pray more, and I've learned that only Jesus satisfies. I've also learned that although I want this man, I don't need him to be happy. The pain of unrequited love has taught me that I can truly be content and have peace in God whether this man ever returns my feelings or not. One thing that helped me is I started to pray for my future husband and that God make me into the woman He needs me to be so that I can receive the husband He has for me. I just said this yesterday on another video. I idolized my husband putting him before God. He removed him from my life through a betrayal. My first question that I cried out was why me Lord how could you allow this to happen to me because I love you. Needless to say God protected and provided for my son and me. God restored all that my ex had stolen and God set me up to retire at 58 and be financially stable. Even enough for college for my son. So 10 years later I look back and see why all that happened and how God turned my situation into blessings. Beauty from ashes. I think one of the reasons why I suddenly thought of someone is because God wanted to tell me that I am worthy and that I can't continue to disregard a potential relationship or even a friendship if I keep being so negative and thinking I have little value. I didn't pursue certain connections with people because I thought that they would end up leaving me for someone better. As a result, I became apathetic to making new friends or dating. I have to remind myself not to compare myself to others and that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that I am worthy of love from a high value man of God. Thank you Mark for your messages. I've been struggling with my feelings for someone for almost 3 years and I've prayed about it countless of times. Needed to make this for myself: 1. God gives you authority over your mind and God is wanting you to be able to control our thoughts. Sometimes it’s not good or bad but just our thoughts. God allows you to think about whatever you want. Colossians 3:2 Romans 13:14 2. Our thoughts reflect what’s going on inside of our heart. Constantly thinking about someone so much could mean something going on in your heart. Ask what is going on in my heart. Matthew 15:19 3. A sign you need to move on in your heart if you feel this person is the cure to your happiness or loneliness. Your mind naturally think about what you need to be happy and satisfied. It’s taken God’s place in your heart and you begin to idolize that person. Don’t forsake your joy in the Lord in hopes to get it from another person. Psalm 16:2 4. A sign you should pursue a relationship with this person. Could be a sign you really like this person and see great Godly qualities in this person and can enter a Godly relationship. Genesis 2:21

In 2021 This guy I liked didn't want a relationship with me because he divorced his wife. He wanted to be FWB so we agreed and during sex he looked into my eyes with nervousness and after feeling something I got home and started evaluating that feeling. I felt a healing in me. In 2007 i cheated on my first love that was married before we met and he was torn apart going through the pain while we were in a relationship and I told him to move in with me. I felt ashamed that I cheated on him. But I am set free from being a cheater. Now mind you both guys were in the military.

I just saw a video about forgiveness by R.C. Blake’s and it’s said basically you have to forgive that person and move on. You may never get that answer/closure from someone but forgiveness is about you and not them. The answer to that question will definitely be about them and not you so if you think about it that way, It will start to get easier to leave that answer behind. I hope it helps. There's something I always don't understand: Why do I get attach to people to easily? But then that video appeared and I have decided that the guy that I like is someone I like only because of his godly traits. For example, at our church, we always have reunion in tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and he's the only teenage adult that takes the time to come at all those reunions. That's why I feel like he's so eager to look for the Lord and that makes feel happy deep inside. Plus, it's not because I like him that he'll like me back. I can see that he only sees me as ''a girl he sees at church''. That's why I don't bother trying to pursue him or anything because I'm a girl and I don't want to pursue man when it's suppose to be the opposite. Although, all I can say is that I care about him and even though I might not be his ''One'', I pray for him to have everything that he desires because I think personally he deserves it. He might never read this because we don't know each other very well but I wish nothing but happiness for him and that he learns to love the Lord even more 💕

I didn’t think that I would find someone with almost the same situation But recently I decided to just concentrate on something else... There is something I feel that I really need to do... but I cannot concentrate on so many things at the same time.... I feel that there is no other way... If I’ll continue concentrating on him I’ll pursue my own happiness but if I concentrate on that other thing it will bring life, light and happiness to others... even though I really want to do the second thing, I just keep thinking of him everyday ( even tho I haven’t seen him for almost 5 months)... many times is frustrating this fact

I've wondered about this a lot too - I even asked my parents and family what they believed it meant when I had reoccurring thoughts, dreams and visions. I think about my ex-wife often. My mom says they are prompts to pray for her especially when I have bad dreams or strange thoughts. So, I often pray that God be with her and bless her life. It helps put me at ease, I'll always have love for her.

When I had reoccurring thoughts of my ex after a breakup, I found that the Holy Spirit was giving me an understanding of the other person. I believe He was doing this so that I would have compassion and would extend His grace to my ex. It also helped to answer the "what happened" questions. I have a hard time moving on until I know what happened. I believe God gave me a teachable spirit, so I want to learn from my experience. I felt that the Holy Spirit asked me to pray for my ex for 40 days. I did that and just met that commitment yesterday. After the 40 days, which were not always easy...I was healed from this relationship. It kept me from jumping into another relationship as I prayed and it gave time away from my ex to heal. I was also able to forgive him completely and surrender it all to the Lord. I would ask the Lord to show you your heart and mind and any areas that you may still have questions, need healing or need to forgive. I would recommend that you pray for your ex and make it a commitment. Once you are done, I would bet that you have a lot of the answers you seek. I hope this helps. God bless you through this :)

I just told a FWB I've been thinking about him everyday since the day I met him which was 10 yrs ago. I wasn^t expecting nothing back from him but I told him it was a burden and I wanted to share that with him. It was just heavy. Keep asking god he will deliver , If that person is good or not for you God will decide whether or not to sent them to you , if not to learn a lesson or to teach you something either about life or yourself. There is no shame in loving some one , are we not taught to love every one ? . Do not forget that God determins what you have and what you get in life . With gods will he will deliver , but at times he gives us what we want , like okay your not going to wait you want it now then he allows us to have what we want not what we need to teach us that gods will is far greater than our own. Understand? Basically its like a parent telling a child out of love no dont do that you can't have it , and a child carring on until they finally get what they want . Like lots cake then get a belly ache and regret eating it all. Basically a parent knows what's best for their child and knows what the child needs rather than what the child wants . God is our loving father and God defenatly knows whats best for us what we need and also what we want , even if we do not . So god will always give us whats best for us , but often he will also give in to our demands and allow us to have what we desire so we may learn from mistakes and listen to god more in the first place. But in life wisdom comes only from making mistakes , we learn from our mistakes right ,well we supposed to . , even if we repeat them eventually we learn . God directs our lives even when we think not , Training your self to pray for something you want or need is still praying and we are required to pray , we pray not only for others and ourselfs but to petition to God for our wants and needs . Whether we get them or not is all up to god and gods will for us. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Mathew 21 22 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 1 John 5 14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14 13 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Mathew 7 7 And in James chapter 4 v3 it says . You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. So if it comes from the heart and the heart is pure kind loving and compassionate and not passions from sexual desires and idolatry then . I'm Sure God will hear your pleas God dosent want us to suffer loneliness or to struggle alone. In time God will send the right person at the right time and you will know it is from God. I recently have seen someone who I thought God has recently placed in my life for several reasons. I kept telling myself this couldn't be so. I am male and this young lady was singing and singing with such compassion she touched my heart like no one ever has. I could see her heart and now am drawn to the goodness inside of her. She is very pretty but what I saw first was what her heart spoke to me. And I could tell she has a heart of gold and I believe God wanted me to see that. Never in my life have I been so moved by another person. I constantly think of her and at the beginning I wanted to pray for her because I know she has suffered greatly. But as a Christian this may not totally be about what I want, that wanting to be close to her, it's about what God's will in my life is also. When I knew this was happening, all I could imagine was wanting to stare at her, touch her, and throw my arms around her and hold her close to me. I believe I am falling in love with her because all the boxes have been checked. When I think of her, I start welling up inside and tears come to my eyes like now as I am writing this, tears are rolling down my cheeks. I have always been a spiritual person and I sometimes can pick up on people's emotions where some cannot. After I heard what had happened to her and her family, there was a great deal of empathy developed inside of me for her. It did not feel like I felt sorry for her, but somehow I felt some degree of pain that she had been through. I care about her in ways I never have for a woman. I want her to be close to me. For reasons unknown to others, we cannot be together at the present. My learning of God's teaching is that he wants us to pray to him. To never cease praying to him. That is exactly what I do. Selfishly I pray that we can be together someday. I hope God understands that. My heart is full of love for her that is overflowing. This has been placed in my heart for some reason. Hopefully God's reason, for us to be together and love each other. For you see, I have never been married and that is probably because I have always picked the wrong one. I have prayed and wanted The Lord to send me a companion that loves me and that I can return that love. I hope and pray it is this young lady and if it is it will be worth all the bad relationships I have been through.

A bit of testimony here about what God has showed me last night. He gave me a dream of myself being surrounded by my friends in highschool in class. It was night time but the moon was super huge, as if it were crashing and coming towards earth. In my spirit, and I feel as if God had told me. "It is time to go." "It is time to come home." Those are the messages I felt in my dream. This dream also had somebody I had dreamt about for years now and its getting more frequent as time moves along. She was one of my friends back in highschool and throughout the years I would have a dream about her and the thing was I thought it was nothing up until yesterday when I had that dream because she was there too. I hadn't talked to her in years as well. I asked God for some type of dream, I said Give me something I can do for the Kingdom no matter what it would be, a rapture dream, sharing the Gospel or what ever it may be. The dream was vivid and it was definitely from God. Jesus is coming soon! Amen! Come Lord Jesus come!

I would like to add that sometimes God is also calling us to a friendship and sometimes He simply wants us to become fervent prayer warriors for that person or for that couple. I've experienced it many times where I reminded couples of a family member and come to find out that one of them or both did not have Jesus but God had been moving in their heart and lives. So I began to pray and have them over for supper! Sometimes we are not called to a friendship as deep as having them over but instead a friendship at work with fervent prayer and gospel moments. We are to always be standing at our ramparts waiting to hear what The Lord would say or show us what He would have us do.

Mark, I saw this video and thought you meant something completely different!! Listening all the way through, I actually appreciate that you are addressing the issue of relationships. So,....you should totally do a video on the flipside of thinking of someone. For Christians who have had more than just a few years under their belt as a believer, this is something that will become more frequent. Do you ever find that you're thinking about someone you know, and you find the sudden urge to pray for them??? This is almost always the Holy Spirit at work, because, like normal good relationships, we think quite a bit about our best friends and family. As it says in Proverbs, (and I don't have the reference on hand)better is a neighbor/relatives close by than a friend who is far away. I have had several occasions where I felt the presence of the Spirit urging me to pray for someone who I hadn't seen or talked to in a while. In a similar fashion, right after lifting them up in prayer, somehow within days I have gotten updates about the individual I was praying for, and it was either a conformation about my spiritual hunch, or God silently proving that His Spirit was at work. Pretty crazy, right???

Suggestion: a generic prayer that whoever God has planned for you will overcome any wrong or misplaced relationships and relationship goals and wait for God to bring you together. Some people will go so far as to pray for God to break up their future spouse's current relationships. I recently went thru several days where I felt like praying against my one's relationships, but I couldn't actually bring myself to ask for him to break up with a gf, if he has one. I want him to be happy, even if it's not with me. (And yes, that thought HURTS.)

Through the years I’ve come to realize you chose to love a person and I’m not talking about God given love such as agape family love, am talking about romantic love. If you fall in love with the wrong person it’s extremely hard to recover. Take Leah for example she loved Jacob but he loved Rachel Gosh think about the pain she endured and she was basically a victim to circumstance .. it is why you never entertain a person who’s double minded or is hurting over another .. be wise to entertain healthy thoughts. Giving your time, thoughts and energies to someone-you do not truly know can break your heart and destroy your life. If your constantly thinking about someone who walked away from you it just might be the one thing Saten knew he can destroy you with. If your still thinking about a person 5 years later who walked out on you .. curse the devil give him a proper fear well by writing him\her a lovely letter detox replace the thoughts with Gods promise to prosper you and not harm you .. in love, peace and everything you need . God should be in the center of your heart and if he is you will be able to let people go without hurting for toooo long. That’s the hardest thing to do by the way and it’s why I would prefer to be sure of someone’s intentions before letting them into your heart. As for you family and kids they will always be in your heart.

Thank you Mark...Love your teachings! I struggle with sleepless nights thinking about a particular person I was in a relationship with... I immediately send my focus towards God every night and always pray that He will help me never to love or desire anyone more than Him...I have a love for this person that I cannot explain, I wish I could...Problem is that he doesn't feel the same, and I also ask God to heal me of this...But then he does things for me, that gives me hope that it could be God's will and I just need to be patient! This topic was great and confirmation...Sorry I went off the topic a little!

The bible telling us our thoughts reflect our heart. No wonder i am stuck fthinking about things and feeling the urge to change some parts for the better but can't understand how or why I should do things most times. I think personally that in terms of neuro-linguistic-programming, no other book will tell us more than from what Jesus himself spoke about. Say you were reminded of a wrongful high school experience from the past that may have affected how you recall and look into events. You judge any new present moment scenario recollecting what you learned back then because you "choose" to be reminded of it. It may not be helpful or serve any purpose but when you do recall, you have wierd sensations of feeling uncomfortable or nervous. I believe this is a form of doubt we all commonly have within us because we embed things into our stream of behavior automatically. We need to remove it if we don't want it there anymore. So how do we do this? I start with a simple prayer and I make sure i forgive and forget. Now these thoughts may come up less often but they are still there. So feel how you feel about them and don't become attached to it. One way is to embrace it because you really accept it and go through it inside and let it pass away from you. Another way is to let that thought come up and as you go up against it you are defeated by it and humiliated by it as if you suffered and surrendered to it going through to the very end. Thoughts are reflections of the heart and they are yours only to view so you decide how it appears to form. Just go with it and continue on after it passes. I use this method to reduce and let any harmful negative emotions come to me but never let it consume me. This is applicable when I have thoughts and feelings that are not normal but they will ambush you somewhere because they hide from you and when you get close to it, they cannot be obscured any longer. I am not in control but I can control how I see it and act to it. The more I do this it becomes a habit because I am training what I would say is my sense to not let things disturb me when I am working on something. It's just something I like to recall, like a mindset game. And whenever I do this, it goes to memory as neurons make connections to this network of thought process light up slightly. Hopefully I can cultivate good attitude and behaviours in myself. To make things even better, whenever I choose to read the holy bible, i tell myself I am strengthening and cultivating some new attributes for me to learn and apply in my life. The words in the book serve no purpose on the pages where there is no conscious life breathing in and out. But have them in me, and they will clean up me inside (quite literally because as soon as i gaze my eyes the powers of the words travel into my head in the speed of light and land somewhere up in there, if i am well my spirit will receive its spiritual equivalent effect and whatever remains will end up in my body say in my heart or gut or wherever). It may take time to digest these words but as the power of habit strengthens with time, slowly i re-shape myself silently.

It took me well into adulthood before I realized that my constant thinking about someone in whom I was interested was just the natural consequence of being a healthy, heterosexual man who wants to bond with a woman for life and reproduce. Once I realized this fact and got past thinking that this or that person was always on my mind because she was "God's will for my life," then I was much better off emotionally and was no longer tormented by thinking that I was missing out on God's will somehow. I've found that it's very hard to figure out God's will for my life other than the basics of love God and keep His commandments.

I am "best friends" with a woman who I've loved since the first day I met her, but I know she is completely unaware of how I feel. Lately, we haven't talked much because I am currently in a relationship that has become somewhat toxic. My current relationship has been filled with bad luck and I've been so busy attempting to perform damage control over half the relationship. Anywho, this "best friend" that I love more than a friend is always there and typically responds, but I've made no effort to keep up with her. She's a year or two older than me(30's) but that has not mattered to me. The problem is, she's been dating guys who do not value her like I can(just 2 since we've met) and has from time to time done and said things that hint at her being jealous when I get with another woman. She'll literally spill the beans to my current gf about who and how I am almost as if she wants to drive the current woman away. Yeah it seems like she want's to sort of keep me on hold, but I've always wondered why?
