We discovered that when we bring our dogs with us that we put life jackets on them. It's not to help them to swim which that is a plus the reason we do it is that there are handles on the top of the life jacket. It can be very difficult getting a wet dog back onto the boat. We learned our lesson the very first time we brought them with us. Our one dog a female German Shepherd weighed over a hundred pounds and trying to get her up out of the water was almost impossible. When we got back to our marina on the way home we stopped by West Marine and pick up life preservers. I was glad to see that you changed your tag out. A lot of people forget that.
@adventures
@adventures 3 жыл бұрын
Oh yes the handle helps sooo much! We do have a swim ladder that came can use basically by himself which is nice but when he has the life jacket on it makes getting him out of the water a breeze! 100 lbs wow that’s a big dog! No wonder you could barely get her out of the water 😳

This is my new favorite boat channel for 2 reasons. 1, the reactions you guys have seem so genuine and you seem to be truly excited to be experiencing these adventures. 2, you show the more mundane parts of boating life like taking a nap in the afternoon after a long morning. no one else shows that. Keep up the amazing work!

Some of those patches are in seriously shallow waters. But I reckon the combination of Cpt. Mike and the N60 could tackle any body of water. Kudos on your great filmmaking and planning skills. Most of your shots are crisp and professional looking, including the amazing aerial and the underwater scenes. 👏🏻

This was probably your best episode so far! You guys impress me more with each one! First, with some really impressive navigating by your Dad in a channel so narrow that I couldn't believe it, and getting so close to the other moored boats that you could probably touch them. All this, and at the same time capturing some epic drone footage! 😮 Then some impressive diving and capturing amazing undersea life (and Camo's expert swimming form). 😎 Then on another day doing some really cool volunteer work to maintain the trails (and all before breakfast)! And then some NIGHT diving, not once but two times, at the end of the second being circled by sharks?!! Where do you guys get your energy? I'm so glad I found this channel; you three, and Camo, are the salt of the Earth--and sea! 😁

Thanks!! I’m glad you enjoyed the episode! This was definitely our favorite spot in all of the Bahamas, such an absolutely phenomenal location with incredible scenery and wildlife. And yes that channel was NARROW, I probably could have given a fellow boater a high five haha. I (Natalie) have been told I am like the energizer bunny, I have endless energy and I force Tj to come along on all of my adventures, although sometimes he does tap out and makes my dad adventure with me instead hahah 😆 I’m so glad you found our channel as well!

My favorite video so far! And that drone footage of Encore making way through the channel was one of more beautiful things have ever seen. Reminds me of these custom Epoxy Wood tables people have been making popular of recent. Oh, and seen video of another Nordhavn 60, Mike make the correct choice deleting tender staircase. He boasted about the closet, but to me it's that deck space for toys really worth the extra walk around in my eyes. 💯 Though I'd probably do a built-in ladder on the edge like you have up on flybridge for convenience.
@adventures
@adventures 3 жыл бұрын
Wow thanks!! We loved how this one turned out :) it really does look like those epoxy tables, I love watching those videos they are so cool. The drone footage was soooo dreamy I couldn’t believe how stunning it looked from up high! And the boat deck space is another huge advantage! If we had that staircase we wouldn’t be able to have both of those tenders up there!

Without doubt this was simply amazing. Your drone shots coming into Wardrick Wells was fantastic and Mike did an amazing job manoeuvring in such tight conditions. The night diving was just excellent. I would definitely not like 4 sharks circling either but what an experience. Camo, what are you thinking darling! I've been so worried he would jump in when you weren't looking and now he has. Doggies and sharks don't mix Cam, please be a good boy. Your channel is going to be a big one. I can feel it😎👏⚓🐾🦘🌴

Yay I’m so glad that you enjoyed it!! He really did an amazing job threading the needle through that channel and the drone really put it into perspective how little space we were working with!! The night diving blew our minds, and the sharks were cool but definitely a little intimidating!! He has never jumped off the boat without us giving him permission before but I guess there is a first for everything, now we know to keep an extra careful eye on him. And I hope it is, that would be so fun :)

It was an incredible spot, maybe our favorite in all of the Bahamas! And the dive hooka is really great for boat projects or for areas that are deeper. This spot wasn’t very deep so it was easy to see everything by either snorkeling or free diving. TJ and I have been working on our free diving skills so we have been wanting to practice that instead of just breathing off of the hoses. But it really is a great tool to have on hand!

@@adventures Knowledge is not always all-knowing seen sharks in peculiar ways when diving and not always showing signs in their body language when in the Red Sea diving in Hurghada end of May beginning of June when we left to go home heard a report soon after about two sharks attack and deaths of I think was two women, we had a meeting at the dive club sometime after going over what happened when we were there and what possibly could have caused the attack on those people, all I would say is look at any and all incidents with sharks in the area you are in to look at taking extra precautions when snorkelling or diving

Thanks! We have a Nikon d750 with an ikelight housing rated for 250Ft. We have the 8 inch dome port attachment on the front. For a lens we are using a tonkina 10-12 mm wide angle fisheye.

Just remember this ; sharks prefer humans that eat Snickers bar's 2-1 over humans that don't ! Not making this up ! It was on a Snickers bar's TV commercial during shark week so it must be true , not false advertising !

Take Camo for a nice long beach walk, you'll all enjoy it more than a stupid pet discriminating trail. Beware! Sharks are super attracted to sound of dogs paddling.

Unfortunately there weren’t very long beaches at wardrick but we did take him to some sand bars to run around at low tide! Very good to know! It definitely seemed like the sharks were interested in him

We barely squeezed in lol. You are correct that is our draft. We saw 7.5 feet at the lowest point coming in that channel since we came in at low tide

Why don’t you keep a spreadsheet with the location of all your provisioning so you know where everything is and also pack in month or two month time periods?
@adventures
@adventures 3 жыл бұрын
That would have been a good idea. This was my first time provisioning for a multi month trip so hindsight is 20/20 we did pack the bins for a month at a time and had food other places as well. There was just so much going on that I didn’t have time to list out where everything was.
