Күн бұрын

The weather is magical and we want to play in the sun, but living on a boat full times means lots of chores and today that means it's time to clean the hull of the boat. It's time to see the half of the boat that no one ever gets to see, the hull!! We go over all the tools needed to get the job done and which ones end up being our favorite. We of course also make time for some fun on land, wait till you see what Camo tries to chase at the sand bar...silly puppy.

Curious, how often, do you dive under and do the clean? 3 months? 6 months? and how often do you pull the boat? every 18 months?

The anchorage was unreal and I was laughing so hard when I saw Camo take off after the drone 😂
@adventures
@adventures 3 жыл бұрын
And that depends on a lot of things. When the hull was painted last, how much you are traveling, and what type of environment the boat is in. It can be as often as once a month or every few months. And the boat gets pulled every few years. Typically about every 2-3 years

That’s a pretty special Anchorage. 2 hrs with that much hull doesn’t seem too bad. Now if you were in Luperon for any length of time I bet it’d take way longer. I’ve seen a few boats that were there that looked like they’d developed their own ecosystem on their hulls

That is a fantastic place. And yes, a clean bottom will keep you from slowing down and any damage and I am talking about the boat. I have had to try and clean barricades off and it sucks,. That Hookah Dive system looks pretty cool. I use tanks and that looks easier for shallow dives.

@@adventures so sad to hear his dreams were cut short. Hope he will buy a smaller boat or even sail boat and keep going out on the water. It is therapy for most of us. You guys did an awesome job by making at least part of his dreams come true. If he ever thinks of coming to Europe (Greece and Croatia) for some travels, we will be more than happy to welcome him aboard. As of 2023 we will be 7 months a year on the waters in that area. We don't have a boat like Encore, but with 49' (Defever trawler) we can accommodate fellow sailors without a problem😀 For the three of you: 'good travels and stay safe'. The anchorage was stunning and yes we did need to bleed the rear ones. The bow thrusters don’t get water trapped but the stern ones can and did. That took us a few minutes while we were getting ready to depart but a pretty simple process
