I always thought the biggest problem with impact wrenches was that they sacrifice rotational speed for torque, so they take a lot of time to screw in very light screws that an impact driver, or even a drill/driver (or just a power screwdriver even) would take less time driving. But time seems to be the only compromise, apart from concerns of overdriving of course - but I think most modern impact wrenches have decent low-torque settings, so this is compensated for somewhat.

ANY bits, adapters or connectors attached to an impact wrench, impact driver that wobble on a FREE/NOT UNDER LOAD tool.. it’s a normal phenomenon! and once you put it under load and use it for an application, it will drive steady and firmly.. why? because a pressure, power and torque is applied to the fastener .
