Hello Davis. Interesting video! Question, problem with covered calls is if the stock tanks! Can one place stops on the shares of the stock one owns if one sold covered calls on it? Thanks!
@optionswithdavis2 ай бұрын
Your broker shouldn't restrict you from placing stops regardless if you place a covered call or not.

@@optionswithdavis So what happens if you sold a call or more than one contract and you get stopped out? How could you fulfill your obligations if they exercise their option??? Will you lose the premium or part of it? Do you use this kind of strategy? Thanks!

Sometimes Protecting your capital is much more important than making money. Basically because if you lose your capital, making money is much harder. ''Missing the train'' vs. ''losing your money''. There are a lot of trains, but if your money is gone, it's over.

Many overlook that banks are return-driven businesses. I don't trust keeping a large sum in a bank. Instead, I invest with guidance, enjoy the benefits, and save for retirement.

The decision on when to pick an Adviser is a very personal one. I take guidance from Lina Dineikiene to meet my growth goals and avoid mistakes, she's well-qualified and her page can be easily found on the net.

I really like your video a lot! Learn tons of new things from you, thanks. What would be your ideal profit target for each strategy? Especially multi-leg. That would be great if you could create video on that😊

Good video as always. You often say 45 days is good to have an edge but it does not apply if you are ok to get assigned. So when does the 45 day "rule" (not rule but said by you) apply?
@optionswithdavis2 ай бұрын
When you're trading strategies where you don't want to get assigned (i.e. credit spreads, iron condor, etc.).

If you end up owning the stock and sell a covered call and the price of the stock goes down do you keep selling the covered call at the original purchase price or do you drop the strike price of the covered call down to the at the money level?

If it were me. I would drop cost basis ( from last time premium ) lowering price of stock. So I would try and ride it down. I would never keep selling at purchase price as you get less premiums Depends on strategy. Some would hold and keep selling at same strike as purchase price. Some will keep chasing it lower

In the previous videos you have made a good case to use 45 DTE as per the study by Tasty. Why recommend 7 DTE in this video?

Because it's designed for weekly income, so you are selling a CSP or CC every week

Why is it, that on an option chain the strike prices that are lower go up and the strike prices that are higher go down ? why wouldn’t you reverse that? Doesn’t it make more sense that strikes that are higher are up and strikes that are lower go down?
@optionswithdavis2 ай бұрын
Good question and I'm curious as well. Maybe the people who designed the option chain thought that options are not complicating enough 😅. But it has been this way for the longest time and I'm used to seeing it this way now.
@nunuland2 ай бұрын
In TT platform if you click on the word ‘strike’ in the header you can reverse it. Like the old ToS platform. I can’t speak for ToS since Schwab took over - I’m in the Uk so they closed my account. However I agree with Davis- I’m so used to looking at it upside down as it were, for 20 odd years, I can’t change it now. I tried but it felt weird lol
