00:00 🌟 Happiness isn't about being happy all the time; it's a balance between various emotions like sadness, grief, and anger. 01:24 🧘♂ The pursuit of constant, hedonistic happiness often leads to discontent; aiming for peace and equilibrium is more realistic and fulfilling. 02:21 ⚖ Rather than chasing extreme highs, finding balance between emotions leads to a more content life, akin to seeking a peaceful relationship rather than constant thrills. 03:45 🤔 Reflect on what constitutes a good life for you and take deliberate steps toward that vision; don't simply drift along without direction.

Honestly, I prefer the feeling of accomplishment over any reward attached. The moments I most enjoyed in my career or personal life are very quiet, and often internal. They’re not major milestones someone else can spot, they’re moments that I myself catch. It would take far too long to explain to others, closest friends or my partner included.

Please for the love of Jeff can you start a separate clips channel... I've already seen this episode so I'm not going to watch this clip again, and I'm missing new podcast episodes because I just stop paying attention to this in my sub feed as I have no idea if it's just a random clip or a new episode.

You shouldn't be chasing the feeling of happiness, you should be chasing the feeling of pride. Being proud feels better than being happy because pride get's you somewhere where happy makes you complacent.
