This is very true I know of a friend who did not include his family on the DV application. It has taken him over 4 years to process there documents and the expenses of coming back and forth every year to see his family.

The question is, are you married to your baby's daddy? You can always indicate on DS 260 that you won't be immigrating with him. But that notwithstanding, you'll have to provide a marriage certificate at the interview. If not, you'll be disqualified. It doesn't matter whether he moving with you or not.

I have one question regarding this update,in the country's we live getting the money to process the whole green card process it's an issue so when it comes to process for the whole family it becomes even harder so we agree on me going first then the family comes after, and also if the wife is scared of going to another country that she has never gone before she doesn't have enough reasons that life will be simple there with her kids.EBM what do you have to say about that

Only principal applicant needs passport at the time of application. You can't add them when you win else you'd be disqualified because it means you lied about your family status.

I apply all to the DV 2023 and my child vary carefully and lucking , It was just a momentary whim 🤷🏻‍♀️ But now ,I may be sorry, because I have all the data and documents to get visas if we win the lottery🤦🏻‍♀️ I also have a place to stay and a job, but i think, we won't be comfortable with that payand, yet we will have to move to another place later . You must to go entrance ( may be only 24h) in USA until 6 months later the medical exams , to activate the green card . When you going with the exams package to hand to the border , there will check if your exams it’s ok ! When you entrance inside US , you have another 6 months to move in US . The green card will be send the address, whit you white to your sponsor ( to be live you )
