Ankle dorsiflexion as it pertains to the Squat is the ability of the front surface of the shin bone (tibia) to move towards the top (dorsal) surface of the foot.
Tight calf muscles on the back of the tibia can limit this ability, forcing the knee and hip joints to compensate in ways that result in the heels elevating and the chest falling.
Squat wedges are often used to accommodate this limitation, and they work great if the training objective is simply to squat.
By turning the wedges in the opposite direction, they can also be used to lengthen and strengthen those tight calf muscles, increasing the degree of dorsiflexion and allowing for a more functional squat on level ground.

Legend. Thanks for your helpful info. I just found one of your infinity lunge videos the other day... Next day I got right into them with the kettlebells... Then couldn't work out why my glutes were aching for 3 days after 😅 first exercise I found effective and also fun. Cheers from Australia

Oh this is very interesting. I feel that incredible tightness in the knees and I was thinking it was my quads that were too tight, but stretching them difficult without bothering the knees in a scary way. I’m going to see if this dorsiflection stretch on the soleus helps. Thank you.

This is exactly the issue I have with my calves amongst other things. Definitely looking to get some of those Squat Wedgiez, do you have a referral code or affiliate link? Bill I am 69 this year, started my training in earnest at age 17, martial artist trained at the highest level In the US, heavy weight training, cycling, calesthenics obver last three years, doing some of your stuff, ofcourse I have knee issues but I have backed out a lot of issues with following kneesovertoesguy regime, to be honest I am having less problems than you are !
