Congratulations on the clean time, year of marriage and starting a brand new recovery program. None of those are easy tasks. If your wife is upset with you, she needs to be talking with her sponsor. Sponsors are good for recovery but also for fights. They help us see the bigger picture. Retreat, Rethink, Respond.... Instead of flying off the handle with Reaction. Talking with a sponsor is the retreat and the rethink part. But you should also be talking with your sponsor to make sure there's not something she's trying to say that you're completely glossing over and missing. I'm praying for you brother.

Sometimes it seems views of marriage seems confusing...too many schools. Listening to this it looks like the man/ husband also has a real responsibility towards his wife: he is anointed to heal her and the wife is anointed to heal him. But so many times, we can hear that it is all (and only) about the Holy Spirit working in the person or not and then absolutely no responsibility for the spouse! Also in some cultures, the issue (and burden) is only on the wife and her ability to submit the husband! But we don't hear about woman's needs to be fulfilled...it is all about the man; the excuse being "woman was created for man".... I appreciate this type of teaching that puts God's intent at His right place (meaning the First and the Last) rather than the culture disguised under pretended godliness!

Please pray for my marriage. My husband after 27 years of marriage turned his heart cold towards me/ our family. REASON- he was having an affair with his married coworker. I was dealing with- a father dying of painful lung to spine cancer, and a mother having TIAs ( ministrokes) and she was experiencing grief about soon being left without her husband of 59 years. My husband was dealing with pain of watching hus father slowly lose his mind to Alzheimer's. Those were our stresses. HIS MISTRESS- she hated her husband, called him " The Dud", and she saw a way to get out of her marriage. She coveted a better man and new marriage.

How does this work when you are married to a narcissist? He has been diagnosed by a certified therapist as a narcissist, his dad was one as well. I want to first start off by saying I deeply sorry for what you’re going through. I struggled for almost five years in my marriage. My small bit of advice, you have to change yourself. You cannot change your spouse but you can change you. Narcissistic people tend to know what qualities to look for in a person and that person becomes their prey. So while I have sympathy for people who are married to a Narcissist. I also realize that narcissist (and people in general) can only do what we allow them to do. pray for yourself and your marriage while working on becoming the healthier spouse. When you become the healthier spouse your husband will have two options. He can either change or continue to live uncomfortably in his own marriage.

I didn't understand narcissistic people till I got married to one. My wife...says she is more gifted, takes me on emotional swings, can never apologise, doesn't want anyone to know what happens in our home, has no empathy, always wants to be in a place where everyone claps for her. In all Jimmy's sermons, it's always him (or men) that are hurting their wives. The guy is the sloppy one, the jerk, the insensitive one, the lazy one, the one ridiculed. I'm tired of this. Me, I love Christ, my family, I am a hard working man with high moral values. Never drank, smoked, used drugs, been unfaithful, I am very attentive to my wife's needs, I am romantic, caring and devoted. Gave a kidney to my dying brother. Get the picture? That's me. And yet, my Christian wife is constantly nagging, extremely jealous, imagine crazy scenarios, is disrespectful, etc etc. I wish Jimmy would address that in a serious matter. Because I'm not the only one out there.
