The family that farms together, laughs together, otherwise, you would cry alone at how often things go wrong at the worst time.

Silage season is always a fine balance between weather conditions and machinery issues. I remember my Uncle renting extra land for a few bales one year. They were baled and wrapped late evening so the plan was to draw them home in the morning. What a disaster..... The crows had been there before us. 36 out of 54 bales had to be wrapped again before we could stack them. A valuable lesson learned around 35 years ago. Another enjoyable video as usual. Thanks for sharing your week with us

Hi Adrian, really enjoy watching your videos over here in the Adelaide Hills South Australia. I love how you can fix things, and the improvisations you sometimes have to make. I recently discovered a qick way to go back to the oldest videos and have started from number 1 in 2019. I'm up to January 2021, and am enjoying the "history" of the past few years and seeing all the changes taking place 👏👌💕

Funny you should say... I've recently noticed that next door's young dad and his small son have started singing very loudly when I've uttered a minor something or other under my breath in the garden... I haven't broached it with them yet, but maybe now I've noticed I can catch myself 🤣🤣🤣😇

Hi Adrian, I am watching your video from West Australia. You mentioned that tea in a field always tastes better, and I agree, i remember as a young lad making hay on my parents farm near Delvin my mother would bring us out bottles of tea, and homemade bread. It was the most enjoyable part of making making hay at least as far as I was concerned. I enjoy your videos keep up the good work.

I probably would have left the bales in the field until the morning, but that might have bitten me later 😮. It's nice to have someone else to help you out with a quick fix to save you from dropping what you are doing to deal with it.Well done girls 😂

By forgetting to put the leg up on the mower and getting away with not damaging it, you tempted the gremlins to try and get you again. Still, you foiled the little rascals again, so they thad another go and made an oily mess. The bale stacking looks fine. They are only there temporarily anyway. The wonderful paint job camouflages the tiny bit of disorder well, so I doubt anyone would have noticed anyway. Good to see you happy and having fun at the end!

Crows are the main pests when it comes to silage bales as bales can be attacked by them if they’re not painted or hidden out of their flying sights.

From a non farmer..whats the idea behind putting the bales in when it is dark..would it not be easier to see them in field and stack them the next morning when bright outside again
@Colm1815 ай бұрын
great video, queation for you, the nugent bale handler seems awful wide, any one i uses the bales do be nearly touching so it doesn't be that wide for the road where as your seems very wide for the road, is that just they way all nugents are made or did you get it made like that, also seems harder to stack bales tight and neatly together when the bales are spread apart.
@IFarmWeFarm5 ай бұрын
That’s a good question, it’s too wide and it gaps the bales to fare apart. I didn’t realise this when I bought it a few years back, i don’t know why they designed it that way. When you’re stacking the bales the wider gap lets the upper bales sit much lower and almost push them apart if you get me. Very easy to catch a hedge or gap post too. I’ve taught about changing it for that very reason

Great crack as always Adrian, drone shots looked fine you would never have known a 4 year old was not flying it 😂, that's the problem with having massey you can never have enough oil about you, lucky enough with the bale I had that happen here once hit the steps on the contractors big John Deer and snapped them off lucky no on was standing as we were stopped for our tea at the time, these things happen to every one and your right tea tastes much better when your out in the field how is that, I wounder if its to do with childhood memories, when like you life is stacked against us I always say well there is another day tomorrow not even touched yet and sure enough the next day is always worse 😂😂, good luck to you and all the family
