The Pellet Waggler - One of the most commonly used match fishing methods to catch carp and F1's on pellets during the summer time. But are we fishing this up-in-the water method effectively? We put Jamie Hughes to the test, to see what actually happens under the water, and how you can IMPROVE your PELLET WAGGLER fishing!
Matrix Fishing TV is home to a huge collection of match and coarse fishing videos. With clips and films ranging from, The Matrix Submerged with Rob Hughes, The Matrix Mission where we challenge our top consultants and the Matrix Mini Masterclass with Jamie Hughes, Mark Pollard, Jon Arthur, Jamie Harrison and the rest of the Matrix team. We also bring you the very latest product videos so you can find out more about our new releases. At Matrix we pride ourselves on manufacturing quality fishing tackle for Match anglers, club anglers and pleasure anglers who simply enjoy coarse fishing. Our product and tips videos will give you an insight into how to pick the right rod, pole or reel. Which is the best fishing box for your style of fishing. What line and hooks to use for feeder fishing or pole fishing and what is the best pellet waggler to use to suit the conditions. Our aim at Matrix is for you to catch more fish. We hope you enjoy our videos and if you do please like, share and comment.

This pellet waggler thing is really interesting. First of all, I am doing it on a gravel mine/quarry pit, in deep water (at least 4 meter and deeper). It works really well in the nice weather from mid Spring to early Autumn specially when you can see the fishes jumping out of the water. Do not want to question anything we saw here, but the fishes on the lake where I do this method do not really come to the absolute surface. I am usually starting at 150-180 cm (5-6 feet) and shallowing up until around 120 cm. I hook a few right after the wag and pellet landing, but I found out that I have more bites after around 30 seconds. I usually use catapult 2 times after a cast, with about 10 secs diff. I have not seen anyone else doing this method, so I can say the fishes are not really used to this. I have tried to do the very active way, cast - catapult - get out - catapult - cast, so about 3 casts/minute, but I slow down because the fishes more likely stay deeper and the pellet should have time to sink at the proper depth. Anyway this is the most enjoyable way of fishing for me besides the pole fishing for barbel in a big river.

Üdv. Hány grammos úszókat használ leginkább a mély banyatavakon? Ki szeretném próbálni én is egy mélyebb kavicsbánya tóban (6-7m) ezt a módszert.

@@lLpiero lehető legkisebbet. 5gr-tol van sorban majdnem mindegyikből, tán csak 9gr hiányzik. Leggyakrabban a 6gros kerül a botra.

A nagyok (5+) inkább lassan, komótosabban húznak, nincs kezdeti 20méteres kitörések. A lágyabb botom Drennan Acolyte Carp Waggler 11", a keményebb Browning CK Carp Waggler 11" 20gr. Nyilván nem egy kategória a két bot, de a lágyabb Drennan-nal vékonyabb cuccal is kijönnek a nagyobb halak.

I've stopped the pellet spin by drilling them through the middle, end to end with 8mm/11mm pellets then hair rigging them. If they do spin they won't tumble end over end, but spin like a record on a Technics 12/10. Around and around. lol

Would your choice of hook link affect the fall rate of the pellet, The go to Fluorocarbon hook link is naturally faster sinking than a pre stretched line so does the line pull the pellet down? Many thanks on a great video.

I know it's counter to logic & does using a floating line for the hook length make any difference, or maybe straight through with a floating main line even?

Really agree with all the findings but .... why not a standard artificial pellet instead of a wafter? It has the right sort of bouyancy with the increased visibility.

What is the fall rate? For 8mm over 3ft please... As the time from feedong to picking up rods then castings must be 2 mins... if the feed is all ready pass the fall rate of 8mms then the hook bait will be sitting they alone?? Thoughts please???
@ifishmatrix
@ifishmatrix 2 жыл бұрын
@@richardbedford169 We covered the sink rate of pellets fed via a catapult in a previous episode of Submerged. The best thing to do, is to bait your hook, have the rod ready to cast, feed, then cast straight away. Rather than feed, pick your rod up, bait it up etc. Here's the link to the last episode - kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3vLimOYmNd8jMU

Would it be possible to film a swim in a match situation to show how much feed builds up on the bottom.
@ifishmatrix
@ifishmatrix 2 жыл бұрын
It would be possible to film, but wouldn't give an accurate view, as there would be no fish involved. We have to trade off lots of fish, for water clarity. The venues have to be like tap water, and unfortunately this doesn't mix with lots of fish eating bait! On a commercial fishery there would be lots of fish eating this bait throughout the day. We're just trying to help you catch more of them :)

interesting film but i would disagree that twitching doesn't work to catch carp.it may not behave in the way you think but the amount of times I've had a bite just after twitching it has to be more than coincidence.
@ifishmatrix
@ifishmatrix 2 жыл бұрын
Jamie didn't say it didn't work, but on percentages a cast gives a better fall and more chance of a bite so to be as effective as possible you're better to recast than twitch.

Fished Aston Eyre fishery last week. Lots of fish up in the water so I tried the pellet waggler, feeding 8mm and 6mm pellets. I only caught on Bait Tech criticals wafters. No bites whatsoever on 6mm or 8mm pellets. All bites came in the top 6 inches of water. Don't discount wafters, Jamie is wrong on this one.
