Wow, beautiful final sentiment. I'm feeling a bit blown away by the idea, "What if there's nothing wrong with me? What if there's nothing wrong with you?" Thanks so much for sharing these words!

Thank you for the videos! Felt good to hear this: "What if there's nothing wrong with ANY of us AND there are parts of us that need some help with what's going on with them because they're not having a good time"

the What IF there is nothing wrong with me resonates tremendously well with Tara Brach Radical Acceptance and Kristin Neff Self Compassion research, fascinating how it all makes sense from an IFS perspective!!

The more I learn about IFS, the more hooked and intrigued I get (hmm, wonder what part that is?). Really appreciated the reflection on how empathy differs from compassion. Thank you.

the whole series is so insightful! Thank you, Derek! You mentioned that when making a decision you would choose the path of least resistance. I am curious how does intuition come into this? This would be making a decision from the self? In your experience, could parts also comment from an intuitive perspective or would it be only the self who has no agenda? Any links or resources to this would be most welcome. Veronika

Holding self-energy for 20/30 people a week transforms the person of the therapist. Anyone care to elaborate?
@IFSCA
@IFSCA 8 жыл бұрын
Actively sitting and holding compassion in the presence of 20-30 people every week facilitates greater Self-leadership in the therapist. It is, in itself, a form of practice in which the therapists develops greater awareness of their own parts and is better able to appreciate the manifestations of parts in everyday life. Overhearing a person accusing their partner of drinking too much? A manager/firefighter polarity. My partner challenging me over politics? A part wanting to engage in a parts war - I can participate from my parts or not. The checkout person blended with an unhappy part with a people-pleasing manager nonetheless struggling to be pleasant? I can choose to acknowledge them and be kind...

This really leads me to believe the spiritual community pulls references from the scientific and psychology community. (Not a bad thing, spirituality is about all inclusive) IFS, paired with SE (Somatic Experience by Peter Levine), is a genius recipe for powerful healing for exceptional traumas (like what I have).
