Alan said he smelled fried shrimp, he is so lovely! You are probably the KZbinrs that I have seen walking the most, very inspiring! The scenery near that shrine is magnificent, and it must be very comfortable to walk there, especially with Alan's sweet mouth accompanying you! The aquarium in Shimoda Park has a free dolphin show. The locals are so lucky! Shimoda is such a beautiful town. This time it feels like you took a time machine and traveling back to a nostalgic good age. It’s amazing! You did a really great job again, thanks a lot for sharing! 👍🥰🙌

Hahaha gotta love someone who adores you even when you smell like seafood. 🤣 Walking is one of the best ways to see a place! It can be a pain sometimes, but it really forces you to slow down and appreciate things around you! There was so much amazing scenery and Shimoda is gorgeous! The locals are certainly lucky to live there! Thank you so much for watching. I really do always look forward to your comments!! 😀

I like how your videos capture nature and local life, unlike what other tourists usually do :) The emergency announcement said "we are checking the fire alarm that went off in a guest room on the 4th floor." (Tadaima yon-kai kyakushitsu kara kasai to no koto nanode kakunin-chuu desu) Btw, Kasai (火災) or Kaji (火事) means fire, and Jishin (地震) means earthquake. I hope it helps with your kanji learning lol.

We love some of the touristy places too, but there’s something about getting a little off the beaten path!!! Thank you for letting us know what the alarm said!!! 🙏 hopefully we can continue to learn more kanji, though I know we have a looooong way! 🤣

下田(Ueda)means the rice fields below. 上田(Ueda)above,中田(Nakada)in the middle,山田(Yamada)in the mountain,岡田(Okada)on the hill,and豊田(Toyota) means fertile rice fields. Hehehe

OMG! You guys finally made it to Shimoda. Shimoda is my biggest favourite sea-side town in Japan. Shimoda has got both mountains and beautiful beaches. I haven't been there for good 11 years since I moved to the UK. You guys did pretty much the same touristy stuff as I did when I visited Shimoda for the first time (it must have been 26 years ago). Is Part 2 coming up? Where are the beautiful beaches of Shimoda, though? By the way, I don't know whether you guys have tried but there is a decent Indian restaurant around the corner from the station (behind McDonald's).
@IfWeGoTo4 ай бұрын
Yes!! We loved it so much! It is such a beautiful little town!! Unfortunately we didn't quite make it out to the beaches. They must have been in the further reaches of town. I guess that always leaves next time! We did not try the Indian restaurant! Next time!! Our schedule has been strange on this trip, so many things did not open until after we had to be asleep! Which was a shame to miss so many great places!

Not a lot of people around. Do you get up early for filming?
@IfWeGoTo5 ай бұрын
Hi!!! We are keeping to USA east coast hours, so yes, we’ve been filming this last trip almost entirely before 1pm or so! I also just don’t think many foreign tourists head to this part of the Ize peninsula. We didn’t see a single one in the Ito area! And only a small handful in Shimoda!
@ルユク-h3h5 ай бұрын
We would like to keep it without tourists. Channels like these cause trouble
@IfWeGoTo5 ай бұрын
These places aren’t exactly a secret… most foreign tourists don’t go because they aren’t as “flashy” as places like Nara, Kyoto, etc. I wouldn’t worry about a video ruining an area unless it went viral or was featured by someone huge in the space. This isn’t the case. We went and filmed it because we thought the region looked beautiful. If it makes you feel any better though, the vast vast majority of our viewers on these videos are Japanese. That and many “influencers” won’t come and make copycat videos unless they think they can pull big numbers.

The siren sounds similar to the earthquake warning siren, but a part of the announcement I could hear said “Now checking if there is a fire nearby”, so I’m not actually sure what it was for. By the way, I’m enjoying seeing your trip and hoping for safe travels.
