@@IfWeGoTo great! Thanks so much..planning to go on 11 to 14 March 2025 follow by Tokyo thereafter..as Sakura blossom in Tokyo 2024 was very much disrupted by Climate change..hope to take a glimpse for the very least at Tamsui as the weather there tends to be warmer which is easier for sakura to bloom. :)

What does it matter the race of his kids.....friends dont make fun of friendly people.He was nice enough to invite in his space genuinely.How hypocritical to publicly make fun of him
@IfWeGoTo
@IfWeGoTo 4 күн бұрын
Wait… we were absolutely not making fun of him or his children in this, so I don’t understand how you interpreted it that way? We met with him multiple times, even before we left the island we made a point to stop by. He told us many stories about how he was the first white man to have married a black woman and have mixed children on the island… and how it affected them. At the time was unheard of and taboo - causing issues for him and his family, which he shared a bit about. The race did matter in this case, because he was the first person in the history of this place to truly break down the racial barriers that existed at the time and make a change. We thought that was kind of significant to meet someone who literally made history there, so we shared it here. We had a chuckle not because of that, but because he had 22 kids!! 22! Could you imagine having 22 children? That’s so many?! That and his direct descendants alone made up 1% of the islands population. We found that to be an interesting fact/unheard of in most places. We had a laugh about it *together* with him because I think anyone who’s parented 22 kids could have a laugh about the absurdity of it. There’s a whole television show about people who’ve had less than him! Laughing had nothing to do with the race of his children though. Also, I don’t know if English is your first language or not, but saying “that’s crazy!” is a response to a situation that’s amazing/unusual/unexpected.. etc. it’s not an insult or bad thing in the slightest.
@nkiah4315
@nkiah4315 4 күн бұрын
@@IfWeGoTo you just confirmed your rude arrogant passive personality I typed in English why would you interject that in your response that's totally irrelevant. To me you're indirectly trying to question my intelligence. The moment you got on the boat you laughed about the seats being covered in Airline seat covers. This might be a vlog and or your bread and butter ; Good luck with! However dont let it be at the disingenuous expense of belittling carribean people! Respect that the way of life is different even if you can't identify with the "absurdity" !
@IfWeGoTo
@IfWeGoTo 4 күн бұрын
@@nkiah4315 well.. it is relevant because we’re a travel channel and we have many people who watch/follow don’t speak English as their first language. Misunderstandings happen all the time of the time due to differences in language. It can be very nuanced. It has nothing to do with intelligence and it certainly wasn’t a slight at you, we were only clarifying. Having 22 children has nothing to do with where they’re from. It’s a lot of kids for one couple anywhere and for anyone’s genes to make up a significant portion of the population is impressive. Also in regards to the boat thing.. it was kind of cool/funny to have recycled those and see airline seats being used so far away. I don’t really understand anything to be upset over? lol. It wasn’t making fun of anyone or anything at all. Are you just searching for things to be angry about? Tbh it just seems like you’re projecting your own disparaging thoughts of other people. Like you think people are less intelligent because they don’t speak English? Big yikes.

You guys might have already visited this place but just in case you have not. I highly recommend that you visit a town called Izu Shimoda where there are many serene beautiful beaches (especially one called Tatato-hama-Beach). If you go there, try a day-onsen experience (only 2000 yen) at this hotel called Yamatokan (an English site available) which is overlooking the beach. 6:45 In Japan, the wood of these shrines and temples is not painted or coated with preservatives. They last for hundreds of years because the wood does not absorb water. After all, the surface is sharpened with a so-finely sharpened plane, it repels water. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKSciWCOr6t6fqs The oldest timber building in Japan is Horyu-ji Temple, built in the early 7th century. I had no idea! I guess after spending so much time in Europe we were a bit churched out and were a bit put off by the expensive price to enter a place of worship (when most are free or a small fee to help with upkeep/restoration) - not realizing there was a museum inside. Still not sure how extensive it is or if it’s worth 40 euro or not. Many of the dedicated museums in Europe are much less than 20 euro each. I agree with the comments though, we went about this in the wrong way. We saw it more as lighthearted sarcasm not realizing people would take it so seriously and prefer travel vlogs that are only ever overtly positive - even if it’s dishonest to an extent. (We’ve even switched to doing more of this because of the pushback) Anyways, hope you can forgive our blunder in this case and find someone better suited to your tastes. We have varied opinions, make jokes, get grumpy, and make mistakes… there are people who literally will never criticize anything out there too though!
