Spreadsheet info:
I have a spreadsheet which collects all sorts of data on Monster Hunter World Iceborne that people ask about a lot - things like the materials needed to upgrade the best charms (e.g. handicraft, expert etc), a list of all the guiding land monster drops and gathering nodes (plus it's searchable), what materials you need for every possible augment (attack, affinity, defence, health, slot, element/status) in the game, etc:

It also includes things like a list of ALL the 4 slot decorations (including even the rare 12 ones which ONLY drop from sealed feystones) so you know the best deco's to aim for when farming. It even has detailed images for the guiding land gathering nodes (the one's that drop materials like the guiding dragonbones/crystals etc) which you need for custom weapon upgrades/augments!
My list of guiding land drops can be sorted either by drop type (so it finds the monster to fight for a particular part) or you can use it to just find the parts belonging to any monster (no more pulling your hair out over how to get those Enchanting Finehide/Trancehide for your health augments!). This goes up to and includes the tempered elders (speaking of which, check out my 5 slot tempered investigation farming macro if you haven't already!)
It also has a Safi'Jiiva relic checklist to easily monitor which awakened weapons you're missing from the new siege!

The joke is just that all the weapons seem to be much more able to mount, even while doing good dps, and not being forced to ledgehop, so the mechanic seems alot less restricted to IG. Especially when aerial IG does such terrible damage and mounting damage

Silk moves are on cooldown, so if this is related to mounting damage, IG will have an advantage due to being able to start it anytime. If they listen to player feedback or their own data about previous games at all, and based on the concept of this game being highly vertical, it makes zero sense that they would keep the shitty aerial MVs and mounting values in World.

Well, it seems like the wyvernriding state is initiated after doing enough aerial/silkbind damage, so I guess the lack of actual silkbind attacks is a way of balancing ig on the wyvernriding side of things. I’d still rather have more attacking options though.

They've shown other moves not on the demo, so it should be like Generations where we can use other attacks. Not sure how it'll be setup though.

@@GameOverlode I just now saw that info. Hopefully the other silkbinds will be good options, but it doesn’t really change the fact that the base weapon without them is factually worse than it used to be as far as I know right now.

I mean... The mounting mechanics need you to do certain amount of slikbind damage or air damage, IG is fucking good for air damage, So now IG is a Stick to ride monsters it seems.

@@ConsOA i meant the damage on a air combo ( even if it's not the best). They said that before you mount you need to deal a certain damage, they said a damage from air from what i understand. That would be actually pretty good advantage from IG if normal air attacks works too. But maybe i understand something wrong. We'll see tommorow in a demo.

@@ConsOA World honestly feels like a complete anomaly, literally no other game in the series made aerial glaive so bad and Kinsects such basic, linear statsticks with almost no choice. Someone obviously fucked up glaive considering the traditional endgame kinsects (the metal rath/scarab ones) were balanced to be complete garbage in Iceborne. Portable team hopefully won't do our beloved bugstick dirty in a game built for it to be amazing by default.
