It was changed to 0w20 because it is geared more towards fuel economy. 5w30 and even 5w40 are recommended for longevity and performance.

I have an S. Oil change is 5.5 quarts to Full. Buy 6 quarts, and you'll have that extra 1/2 quart for your next oil change. Cheers!

I’m stupid what does it mean to tighten to 5 nm?? Can I do that by hand?

5nm is the same as 44 inch pounds, its a unit of torque that you measure with a metric torque wrench. Its not A-LOT, so i would be careful to not over-tighten it. I would be comfortable doing it by hand personally if i didnt have a wrench, just take it easy, its made of plastic.

no, I just switched to a magnetic one as a preference, you can just re-use the original one

Honestly fairly easy. Just move the pan to the side because it will come out at an angle.

Pls provide the exact part number for the schwaben exact oil funnel. I checked the one from ECS tuning but it says it does not fit the f56 jcw. Pls clarify. Tnx 😊

It’s this one amzn.to/3Pv6mqz The part number is 029348SCH01A It doesn’t call out mini on the website but it says bmw: all. The f56 use the same b36 b46 b48 engines found in many other BMws.

So weird my F56 has like 79k miles, I changed the oil at like 64k and the old oil looks almost new.

Plastic square jacking points are near the side skirts behind the front tires and in front of the back tires.

You're welcome to, I've never found it necessary. Its not listed as a step in any service manual or owners manual, dealers don't do it, most mechanics don't do it. Most people ive talked to about it agree that the engine surfaces are already coated with oil and anti-wear additives, the engine gets lubrication again when oil is added to the top and flows through the engine. Pre-oiling a filter can lead to a faster rise in oil pressure, but i really don't like the mess that gets caused by doing it on most cars and i stopped doing it ages ago.
