Doesn’t need to be like that. There doesn’t need to be a “swap.” Both games should be rated fairly and not who people feel bad for. That said you shouldn’t listen to IGN at all because the whole concept is horrible. Each game should have a party of people assigned to very hyped and popular games like mario and sonic. For more indie and low down titles they should have a smaller party or even one person review the game.

The game is just above average and that's it. 7.5 out of 10 is a chapel. the main advantage of the game in comparison with frontiers is that it is quickly passed in its 7-8 hours, it is forgotten, and not 50 hours of frontiers of which it is difficult for you to remember something because in the game, apart from exploring the open world, there is really nothing good and you have spent absolutely in vain

The levels (both the Sonic ones in the remaster and the new Shadow ones) are expertly crafted, there's also a fair amount of content if you want to get all collectibles, missions and improve your time/score in each level. Since you brought up Frontiers, I didn't play much of it as I disliked the boring environments and sluggish controls.

Honestly, I think IGN was WAY TOO harsh with Brothership. IGN is the one video game reviewer that isn't the most reliable & that goes for Sonic too. As someone who like both Mario and Sonic franchises I will say that personally I'm glad that Sonic x Shadow Generations is the W the Sonic fandom needed in a long time, and I think the Mario fandom shouldn't overthink that rating the recent Mario and Luigi game got because they were already getting fed with other critically acclaimed Mario games like Super Mario bros Wonder. I'll rate those 2. Sonic x shadow generations. : it's actually good and really it gives us a actual playable shadow. And some level designs don't make sense but they are fun. 9/10 Mario&luigi brothership : From the art style itself, it shows that it's very good! The game is similar to mario RPG (so it works like a normal RPG.) Overall a solid 8/10. (It is only 8/10 for some minor problems) My cons for both games For brothership, I think it has to do with performance issues on the switch itself so hope it gets fixed. For shadow x sonic generations, my problem with it to not give it a 10/10 is because it's based off generations, so yeah it isn't much.

Fr. Ppl tend to forget that RPG games arent always well received compared to regular platform gaming. M&L can be very slow and gets tiring from time to time while S x S is all abt that boost and simple 3D gameplay which is what grabs peoples attention the most.

*i say it as a person diagnosed with autism, myself.* to me it seems that IGN thinks that autistic people might feel "offended" by seeing mario being more rated than sonic. since if i'm not wrong i know the most down bad side of autistic people, loves sonic and any other insanely fast paced game. as somebody who prefers mario over sonic but thinks that sonic is also great anyway, it's quite unfair, tbh.
