Rise of the Ronin gets a new trailer and a PC release date announcement. It’s just not technically impressive, which was called out, but it did not receive “poor reviews”, unless you consider a 76 on metacritic to be “poor”

Strangers of Paradise was garbage, Team Ninja can barely make a decent game. NioH was decent, Ninja Gaiden has been slop for 20 years. Rise of the Ronin was Japan's attempt at making Ghost of Tsushima and failed because Team Slop only makes slop.

Just started playing this game a few weeks ago on Ps5 and have to say it’s really underrated. Combat is hard but fun and I love the customisation options for your character. It’s not as polished as Ghost of Tsushima but the combat has much more variety and depth.

I couldn't get into this game myself. The combat felt pretty shallow as it was mostly parrying and changing stance depending on what icon was near an enemy's name.

Yeah, in the beginning with only one style I thought it was pretty shallow until we could use three styles in each weapon and the combat opened a lot. Best combat design of 2024.

Yah they botched the PS5 Pro patch as well. One of the last Pro patches that had issues and hasn’t been fixed yet. Been waiting for it to hit PC as a result.

That is a damn good news ! I hope they also will add more npc in part of the towns and it will be all good ! This is the first game where you can free roam Yokohama, EDO and Kyoto at this era, and it's a blast. And all the emotes make it so you can really take some nice screenshots or take in the view while playing Shamisen. With upgraded graphic fidelity and maybe mods, it could very well get the recognition it deserves. Maybe the AC shadows controversies will make this game shines more in comparison.

I have played this game for an ungodly amount of time on the base PS5 and will continue to do so when it releases on PC. It may not be a looker but the game itself, its other aspects are so well put together that I manage to make 4 full playthroughs (one on midnight difficulty). Hopefully the demo version also releases so people can try it out.

No. This is an open world rpg, not a sandbox, not an immersive sim. It's a theme park full of attractions, and a story if you get bored of visiting the attractions. I'd say it's a cozy realtime turnbased game. It's good enough tho, considering way of samurai is fkn old, and also not that immersive either considering you can't kill certain npcs, and you can't instant kill certain enemies.

❤ I personally love this game! I've put so many hours on it. Especially after coming from Ghost of Tsushima (which I considered my favorite open world game, until this game). I feel kinda bad because this game launched together with DD2 and because of that this one didn't receive the attention it deserves. It's so good! I would say it's even better than the Witcher 3 and Ghost of Tsushima in many aspects. It's has a huge load of good features and things you can do. So much! It's not a joke. And the combat, movement, animations all feel and look good too. You can even create your own character design if you don't like the original. It even has online play, with an active playerbase on PS5. At least I experience this on it. Truly a gem. Get it! Don't listen to the hateful reviews from toxic gamers out there. This game is amazing! I would rate it a 9/10 or 8.5 at least, because of all the huge list of good mechanics and fun replay factors.

I had such a great time with Rise. It was pretty ambitious for Team Ninja and I loved it. The authentic voice acting, time period, combat, and story was fantastic. The only thing I really disliked about this game was the "checklist gaming" standpoint like AC. You literally have to get most of the collectibles if you want to experience the end game content the right way, otherwise you will be severely under leveled. Would love a sequel to this series!

Yep, Team Ninja's PC ports usually come out within a year of launch of console. Nioh 1 took 9 months and Nioh 2 took 11 months.

If they released the PC version for this same as the PS5 I might have bought it because I had nothing else to play back then. But I already pre-ordered AC Shadows and can't wait to play that one. These Koei Tecmo games with flashy moves aren't really my cup of tea. I bought Fate Samurai Remnant (full price, including season pass) because it is Fate, but I wouldn't have bought that game for that gameplay.
