You need to do them in the main single player campaign, but they’re fun. You can opt to do strictly a certain type of event in multiplayer (online and local). Hope that helps!

Great review! Fair criticisms all around, it's a fun game, but it does get repetitive and definitely would have benefited from some more variety in the trucks and tracks.

I just bought the Soldiers and Pirates DLC for the Xbox. It says that I got them, but I still can't race the trucks. They all still say ''Show Bundle''. When I go to it, it shows a shopping cart with a checkmark & it says to download. I was hitting all the buttons on the controller, but nothing happened. What do I do?
