To be fair...stuff like this started back in cod ghosts, the difference was though not only was it not just a skin but actually was a sort of cool killstreak type thing, was not a temporary thing but rather bound to certain maps...and overall the devs could actually focus on maps that while smaller could be designed with match progression and players in mind. Frankly, part of me yearns for old style map/packs of the late 2000s to mid 2010s...maybe a lower price, but you were guaranteed content at a expected pace.
