Seems like it’s short shifting 3rd and 4th gear.. Is the tune stopping the car from hitting the 6500 redline? If so, I’m guessing the power drops off after 6k RPM?

I'd put the car in manual mode and rev each gear out a ways man. I've seen C7 S6s gain a full second 60-130mph from that alone.

I don’t meant to sound like a noob or anything but would this set up be possible to do on a s4. Running 20s up front and 18s in the rear or is this just an s6 thing?

You can do it. The S6 just requires a 19" or larger wheel to clear the front caliper.

@jimlab3 жыл бұрын
Just FYI, you got more trap speed out of the street tires because they weren’t flat. You aired down the drag radials way too far. 25-26 psi is about as low as you should go, and only go as low as you HAVE to in order to get traction. When you air down that far, you may get a good launch, but you’re dragging flat tires for the rest of the quarter, which slows you down. You should have tried them at full pressure first and then aired down a little only if you spun on the launch.
@IgnitionTube3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insight, will try different PSIs next time. I’ll probably end up doing some street testing as well 😅
@ValerianusEustorgios3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate someone providing great feedback, I would just like to state for the internet to learn that it completely depends on your track, prep, and weather conditions. Many radials perform better below 20 psi in the right conditions, but they also can be slippery (or even dangerous) in the wrong conditions. It completely depends on your environment and that is where drag racing experience comes in, so even if you show up in the best drag car there is always something to play with, this is why I love drag racing.

That tire size difference is not good for a quattro, that front tire size is doing 5 revolutions more than the back tire over just 1 mile, BUT your car runs similar to a haldex system? I'm not to sure about the newer quattro's, but the older center diff quattro's that tire difference would play havoc with the center diff, could be a reason for the slower trap times if your gearing is off slightly through the different tire sizes as your back tires would be pulling against your front tires, even if it's an 8th mile drag that front tire is still doing 0.625 more revolution than the back tire, not much but would still cause significant enough drag between front and rear tires, but like I said I not 100% on the haldex system if it allows that slippage or not
