I just bought one and am in heaven. It is a magnificent guitar in your hands.

Delighted to see they've reintroduced top-end pacificas; I've got an old 9-series, which they discontinued after a few years, it's just a fantastic instrument.

I have never bought a bad Yamaha product. In fact every "beginner" Yamaha product I bought taught me what the baseline of a good one in that category should be like: electric guitar, classical guitar, scooter, motorcycle, etc.

The Standard Plus will definitely be my next guitar. A couple months ago i got a RSS02T Revstar Standard with p90s and i am blown away by it. It is by far my favorite guitar i own and since i love S-Style guitars i am very curious about the new Pacifica.

People shouldn't snub Yamaha guitars. I have an older Pacifica H/S/S that I'll never let go. Yamaha has been in the sound business for years - they know what they're doing. It's the only guitar I own that hasn't been modified, and it doesn't need to be. I'll take a Yamaha over a Strat any day.

So they spend 3 years showing off Jeff Schroeder’s Floyd equipped Pacifica. Then they don’t bother making it. Does no one at Yamaha understand the concept of marketing? 😂😂😂
@ChidOki6 ай бұрын
They seriously don’t. They make such great products but they’re so weird at marketing…they have Chris Buck and Matteo Mancuso playing the Revstar and other than a couple promotional vids they don’t do anything. any other brand on earth, if they had two of the most well known young popular players on the internet playing one of their models, would pump money into advertising that and doing signature models and juicing the heck out of it. But not Yamaha haha
@vinhrua12 ай бұрын
That's called a custom guitar. Doesn't mean it will sell well on the market. Pacifica with Floyd has been made in the 90s and was cancelled for a reason, a lot of player don't want to bother with that trem system.

Is the pickup selector far from the strumming hand? I hate strat because of the pickup selector. I accidentally hit it all the time.

I have the same problem & its the main reason Iv been using Pacs for over 20 years I also hit the Volume control but on the Pacs no problems at all

Yamaha guitars are great but try FGN (Fujigen) - best in the world.

For the money they're selling them, I rather get an Ibanez AZ Prestige.
@ChidOki6 ай бұрын
Could I ask why? I’m considering a higher end S-type and have boiled it down to the Yamaha Pacifica Pro vs Ibanez Prestige 2204 I think. Curious to know your opinion, if it’s purely personal preference or some other good food for thought.
@greekfreak19806 ай бұрын
@@ChidOki The Ibanez AZ Prestige is cheaper, has roasted maple necks/fretboards & the Dyna Switch System, which is basically an advanced coil split function that gives you 9-10 different pickup combinations. Basically more guitar for your money, plus the Japanese Fujigen Ibanez models have one of the best fretwork on the market.
@ChidOki6 ай бұрын
@@greekfreak1980 The fretwork on my Revstar Pro is the best I’ve had on a guitar, so I’ve been feeling like I know what I’ll be getting if I get the Pacifica Pro. I have heard the Dyna Switch thing is amazing, but I haven’t heard someone vouch for the quality fretwork specifically like you have. I’ll definitely have to try one out in-person. Thanks for your input!
@greekfreak19806 ай бұрын
@@ChidOki Pretty much all guitars made by Fujigen factory ( that includes Ibanez Prestige/ Genesis/ J-Custom, any Fender and affiliated brands like Jackson/ Charvel and their own FJG brand) are known for great fretwork. Also the roasted maple neck on the AZ is really handy, if you live in an are with temperature/humidity changes, so you don't have to adjust the neck all the time. Don't get me wrong, Yamahas are great, but the AZ is just more value for money hands down.

I wondered about the price myself, but after playing one the other day, I can honestly say that it is worth the money. I’ve played for over 35 years and have had $2-3,000 guitars. This one feels, plays and sounds as good any of the others I’ve had. I’ve owned PRS, Gibson, LTD, Fender and Washburn customs. Just try one if you get a chance and then compare it to something similar in a higher price range. It will definitely hold its own.

On the appearance, mixed open & covered pickups isn't to my taste. I know that's the fashion now, but I'd prefer an uncovered bridge humbucker to match the others. To me it looks like someone had some old pickup lying around that they stuck in. Is that just me? Anyone else feel that way?
