The F-5E's airframe durability is insane, from my experience. Never rips its wings even when pulling a sustained 13g's. Not sure though if Gaijin intended it to be able to withstand a direct hit from an R-60 and can still fly.

Its broken as fuck, go in DCS and try it here. Its extremely slow on deck - mig21bis is faster by a lot. here? It keeps with phantom. Its Climb rate sucked ass conmpared to F4s and other jets. In wt? It keeps with them. It bleeds shit ton of energy in DCS in sharp turns, not in WT. Its acceleration sucks in DCS and in WT? Its fucking rocket. If USAF had this and if it performed like this, there was no need for F-16A at first place as current WT F5S outperforms real world F-16A in absolute majority. And i dont believe, they have better FM in WT than in DCS after what they did with 21BIS.... where its totally different to DCS one. WT F5E is paper UFO not realistic in a slightest.

@@honzavasicek Phantom does Mach 1.2 basically on the deck in WT, F-5E isn't anywhere near as fast as that. as for MER you'd need all sorts of charts to prove it's overperforming but it does seem broken.

@@fexilsehn6445 Mach 1.2 is 1470 kph at altitude of 500ft. F4E cant even sustain that speed at that altitude, it barely touches 1400kph mark. And as i said, go in DCS and try it out. You will see difference right away. Without even deep testing, the difference is terribly marginal.

@@DEFYN I'm not speaking about velocity, I'm speaking about gun placement and easiness of use. The f5's guns are way easier to aim than the belly gun of the mig21. I also need your help; when I have 1v1s on the mig19 against F5C I have no problem, however when I'm stall fighting against the F5E I get out turned sometimes. I'm missing the engine and cover modifiers, are they really crucial for maneuvering better at low speed? I know the F5E never meets the mig19 in a regular basis, but I often do 1v1s vs rank 7 planes on it

I would have assumed that people would learn from the lower tiers that head ons are not the best solution or the best chance of success. Your flares don't work because you have to use flares reinforced now. Ath the 21bis for example you only nee a series of 2 flares with a delay of 0,2sec between them and you can dodge a aim9j for ur 6 without even moving due to the nice launch direction of the flares.

@@weiwu1442 That's the thing. In DCS the F-5E is absolutely asthmatic compared to the MiG-21Bis. Once the F-5 pulls a few tight turns it's slow and can't accelerate, a sitting duck. Yet in war thunder it regains energy like it is nothing.

@@stoyantodorov2133 F-5 only retains it's energy at HIGH speeds and so does it in DCS. If you get slow in an F-5E you'll have shit acceleration in BOTH dcs and war thunder. It's just how it's thrust curve works at low fuel. As it could approach the thrust to weight of most top tier jets at lower fuels.

@@weiwu1442 well, not exactly. The F-5 was initially a internal project by Northrop, conceived by the same bloke who designed the P-51 and F-86. It only became a MiG-21 equivalent after the modifications that turned it into the F-5E, such as more powerful engines, improved aero and crucially, a actual radar.
