There’s a harpoon, chasing after a mythical beast (something that injured him), having nightmares, being very intense about his revenge etc. I think he’s giving his name as a reminder and affirmation. Even if Bayle doesn’t remember such an insignificant warrior in comparison to itself. I also think he is being humble at the same time. He has faith after witnessing our might. The finest Drake Warrior he has ever seen. Also we know he’s a Drake Warrior but doesn’t see himself as such no longer; the Dragon Priest Florissax tells us he was if I recall. Edit: Just because someone else said this too about Moby Dick, and I just love it so here’s a quote. When I did the fight I summoned him and the killed Bayle like normal, but somehow it bugged and Igon kept on fighting and was stuck in a loop of the dragon claw spell against absolutely nothing, while he kept screaming the part at 4:35 . For me it's canon lol

I fought Bayle at like 4 am the other day & I lost my first go at him. I blame it on Igon. I was not prepared for the “CURSE YOU BAYLE!” & his monologue. Maybe because I was beyond over tired but I lost it. I just bursted out laughing like there was no tomorrow, then I forgot about the dragon in the room & my ass got kicked. He made me top 3 NPCS in the game. Probably top 10 in my Souls/Borne run so far. The VA fucking nailed that.
