“ I feel like we need Superman right now ” hit hard. I grew up reading, watching, and playing a lot of comic book stuff but slowly fell out of love. Not to suck My Hero Academia dick but the one thing that series did get right was creating hope of what superheros can bring. Something I haven’t had with any recent comic adaptations. Especially with the boys and invincible. It lead me back to my love comic especially my long lost one for DC Comic. It lead me back to Superman. A character I had forgotten how much I loved at one point. I at one point even been part of his hate mob stupidly saying he was a bad character. Superman vs the Elite and my adventures with Superman ( not perfect but) great ways to get introduced to the character again. He can be a poorly written character when people only see him as been the strongest character. But his real strength is when he gives people hope. The total opposite of how he has been shown in movies over the last couple of decades. Sorry there’s my rant. Great to see something new from you. Any recommendations for good Superman comics would be greatly appreciated.

Winter soldier answers this: she's smart, she's quiet and quick, she's a great detective and a spy. Disney doing everything in their power to never make an animated film because they're """too expensive""" while pumping untold millions and millions of dollars into these completely forgettable, soulless nothing burgers is endlessly embarrassing. They're one of the most rich and powerful companies in the world, but can't cut even one of these movies to actually make something classic that people would want to watch outside of its release week? It's just pathetic how I've seen them go from an untouchable goliath of animation to a feckless BRAND devoid of originality. People are sick of remakes and overcomplicated extended universes, and Disney is at the forefront of both of those trends. Frankly, Disney's actual value and identity gets watered down every year. They're too big to fail, but man they've burnt so much good will that nobody other than the soyjacks would even care if they just stopped making movies completely. Its really not that ridiculous to say that the boomer "cartoons are for kids" mindset is complete nonsense. These corny live action super hero movies are infinitely more childish than anything else in pop culture. I'm not saying you're a man child if you enjoy a film or two, but can we stop acting like these movies are in any way "adult" or easier to take serious than even a DISNEY movie like Mulan (the original animated one, the one that actually has a reason to exist, obviously). Frankly every time I try to watch a modern Marvel movie it just reinforces to me how sterile and out of touch Hollywood as a whole is becoming. I'm sick of being expected to clap like a seal for silly-putty CGI action figures smashing together.

In the comics, Green Lantern is a founding member of The Justice League and even had his own movie. Warner was so terrified of reminding people of that movie because it was such a bomb that they threw in Cyborg, a Teen Titan, instead. Also, they should have had someone else play Aquaman, tossed Steppenwolf and had Jason Momoa be Lobo as the villain. They also missed an easy out with Shang-Chi. They needed to go back and look at the reason the character even exists in the first place: To capitalize on the the American karate/kung fu craze in the 1970s. All they had to do was essentially remake Enter the Dragon and it would have been license to print money. Hell, they could set it in the 70s for bonus style points and maybe even another hit soundtrack on the level of the one for Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm baffled why no one thought to do this.

I find it hard to take your opinions on Superhero Movies seriously when you barely take these Movies seriously yourself. You constantly call them stupid, dumb, unbelievable, as if there was ever some sort of requirement for realism from…Science *-Fiction* films. And considering how big the MCU became in spite of these… “problems” shows it’s ‘just a You problem’ Avengers: Endgame is hard to keep seriously because it has a Pegasus? Ancient Greece was captivated by stories with such creatures and crazier creatures for Decades. It was literally a part of their religion. And although they could be better animated, the Fantasy Creatures in Shang-Chi were cool and cute. I bought the Lego set of the Asian Dragon just because I liked seeing it in the film.

Super interested in your opinion on the final shape. It’s getting loads of praise, but honestly I’m not impressed at all. Character assassination tier writing and really poor level design that couldn’t hope to approach the quality of the witch queen, or the taken king, or forsaken. Messy none ending to the story. Sadly let down when I thought I didn’t have any more expectations to be let down

Hit the nail on the head perfectly with the DC animated movies idk who they are supposed to be for. The writing is completely juvenile and feels like it’s meant for kids to watch it but the subject matter tends to stray into realms that would either go over a kids head or would be straight up unsuitable for them. Basically I’m saying you have to be stupid to enjoy those movies.

Slavic Kazakhstani liberal-ish guy here. Holy shit you hit the NAIL on the head with the problems in this Major Grom thematically. ESPECIALLY after how fascistic Russia has gotten post the start of the Ukraine War/Invasion. I like the movie from performances and how it is shot, but I never met a movie that fully covered all the criticisms of the director of the Boys that Superheros are inherently fascistic, and just went: “yeah so?”

Honestly, I really enjoyed Let There Be Carnage. You're not exactly looking at something high brow at all, but it's just a really fun time for me personally, and something that gives me a lot of the same feelings as a lot of the strange, campy and ridiculous superhero films of the early 2000's. Is it an unironically great movie? Yeah not really. But is it a fun movie? My god it is.

Hey IHE i hate your release schedule, maybe if you uploaded more than once every year you wouldn't be 3 years behind culture.

36:00 that wouldn’t be a trilogy anymore…

That’s a good take tbh I think eternals would’ve made a decent tv show where they had time to develop the characters

with Grom, if it weren't blatant propaganda and had come out in the west, I'd almost say the main villain is a critique on how these modern tech bros undermine traditional power structures because it empowers themselves, the freedom they promote not so much being freedom as an excuse for them to skirt the law for their own benefit.

Because Asia has no billionaires or corruption, nor indeed even a capitalist system to critique, right? It literally is that, you're just being weirdly racist.
@1234redwing7 ай бұрын
@@Jane-oz7pp no, they definitely have that, it's just a Russian propaganda film would probably not be critiquing that sort of thing, given the large amounts of corruption and cronyism in russia, their entire system is built on billionaires controlling everything, so they probably wouldn't allow a critique like that to go through

Holy shit, youre still alive. It takes me almost a year to get through this many movies too, to be fair

I think my most hated movie from this list is The Eternals. I can't stand its lack of logic. The stupidest moment in this movie is when Salma Hayek explains Richard Madden how precious life on Earth is. They've lived thousands of times and have been to thousands of planets, but Earth is the place where they changed their minds? Why? Even if that feeling had been building up through the years, I can't believe they doomed all those planets and then suddenly 'Nah, Earth is good. It's a mistake. Let's change.'

Not that you need to (nobody should go through that much D2) but are you planning on doing a video on The Final Shape?

I still love to see this channel pop up and think about the time he said that everyone who doesn’t like The Last Jedi is a scumbag because people worked hard on that movie and it’s not ok to say you hated their movie. I’m glad he didn’t make an online career out of saying he hates other products that people worked hard on. 😅
