I turn 80 next week and totally agree that AOC and the other youngsters need take the lead! Jasmine Crockett for president 🎉
@maryhilton903917 сағат бұрын
Not Aoc but Jasmine definitely should take the lead and not even just because she’s younger, but because she be giving them the business and she stands firm and she stay loyal because that’s our problem. Hell, this whole entire conversation is part of the problem. The Republicans know Donald Trump ass ain’t shit and I’m pretty sure a lot of them figured out by now that he will drag them to hell even when he’s long and gone, but you know what they’re gonna ride that horse into the fucking wheels fall off Democrats every time, we don’t get our way or we don’t get who we want we pout and give Republicans free fucking advertisement which makes our message inconsistent therefore no matter who is at the top. No one is going to listen to them because we instead of fighting Republicans fighting each other.

The federal government is $37 trillion in debt, and growing each year. This year, the debt will grow roughly $2 trillion. In that environment, it is a fantasy to believe that anything like universal healthcare is going to happen. It is more important to worry about Social Security, which is so underfunded that benefit cuts are slated to begin in the early 2030s. We already have more government than we can afford.

@scoreyj1317 сағат бұрын
@@michaelthelen4750 What part of a tax to pay for universal healthcare do you not understand? The fact is it would save the American taxpayer about two hundred billion a year (this is the most conservative estimate btw) a year by going to universal. The majority of people would save money. The money for healthcare is already being spent but right now a lot of it is just going to corporate profits. Both can be done at the same time if done correctly.
@michaelthelen475017 сағат бұрын
@@scoreyj13 There is no credible estimate that universal healthcare would save two hundred billion a year, although you could probably find an ideologically driven one. I for one am not interested in paying even more taxes to fund your healthcare. A responsible behavior would be for you to fund your own healthcare. One of the reasons this country suffers from enormous budget deficits is the entitlement of people like you who want to offload your personal responsibilities to society as a whole. Universal healthcare is widely noted for long delays in getting needed care. The National Health Service in the UK is a notable example. That is why there is still a private health insurance market in the UK. If you really want universal health care, you should probably just move to a country which has it. As noted, this country has enough budgetary problems that it isn't coming here for a long time, if ever.

I agree on the point with Pelosi etc. and would prefer Crockett, AOC, Moskowitch etc. But I am 58, I was born woke, I am not out of the touch with the "new" culture. The "new" culture among many young people is out of touch with reality, facts and knowledge about society and the world.

I have chosen to be an independent voter. An independent voter, often also called an unaffiliated voter or non-affiliated voter in the United States, is a voter who does not align themselves with a political party.

I’m so pissed Nancy Pelosi needs to take her own damn advice and step aside like she told Joe Biden she needs to get out of Congress go relax and stay out of the young ones way that’s what America wants. Clearly they voted for her and Trump in New York.
@hopepeace88318 сағат бұрын
These old Democrats need to step aside and get behind some of the young, dynamic Democrats, let them advise and lend their experience and let the next generation take the leadership positions. Maybe we need an age limit for both the congress and SCOTUS. It is very obvious we need major election finance reform, get this money out of politics, that would cut so much of the undue influencing and corruption.

I think Kamala became inspirational to many. She just didn't have enough time, thanks to geriatric uncle Joe.
@DisappearingNightly13 сағат бұрын
@@JRTrilling I also think it's worth noting that her campaign lost momentum after an initial burst, and that loss of momentum seemed to coincide with the move to the center. Her initial message was one of change and hope, but as soon as it became the Liz Chaney tour the momentum dissipated. It was designed to persuade right leaning independents, but it effectively made her seem more establishment and much less fresh. Americans were hungry for change. "We are not going back" began to ring hollow. It's hard to sell people on the idea of change while employing the rhetoric of the George W Bush administration.

I agree about Maxine Waters, she needed to leave aftrr the housing crisis. Back in 2006 she hired me to decorate a hall space for a function she held to promote homeownership in Los Angeles sponsored by sub-prime lenders which turned out to be disastrous as we all know. Btw, the budget allowed for materials... $300.00!

I was watching a news spot last night about the Senate taking up the funding bill. The Democrat speaking about it forgot his lines and actually turned to the other old men to remind him.
