I really enjoyed this episode of the podcast we need more episodes of this nature. I’m glad that the institute is aware that majority of its members are just paying membership fees but are not active participants on the events / activities of the institute. The question is what is the institute doing about it? Recently there has been a drive of promoting the profession to students, which is great; but that has taken centre stage and very little has been done regarding the current members of the institute.

I like what Nyasha said about voting for people that we will benefit from as board members instead of voting for people we know. I saw people with board experience not being voted for last year, instead people who were well know and have a social media presence were voted for. I support the CIA designation as a requirement because the truth of the matter is will you even be considered to serve as a board member at SAICA without the CA (SA) designation?
