4 lakhs salary is only offered to 10 students in iit Bombay . There are 10 branches in iit Bombay which means per branch only 1 student got 4 lakhs . So why it is so much highlighted . Still 90% students got salary more than 10 lakhs . Average salary is above 18 lakhs . We all know that there are 10-15 lazy engineering students in every branch who don't study at all in all their 4 yrs of btech . But still only 1 such student per branch got 4 lakhs pa salary . So beating the drum just to shock other with 4 lakh figure just selling half baked news .

Actually Employers are preferring Mid Tier Colleges( Tier 2 or Tier 3) because they get better skilled students with low cost. Private Tier 2 or Tier 3 Colleges are doing very well their Curriculum and Faculty are good. There is good competition among Colleges for performance. Employers are ditching govt. Colleges Central or State which have Outdated Curriculum. ForEg: IIIT, BITS Pilani, Amity, Manipal, Symbiosis, NMIMS, VIT, SRM, Christ etc are doing very well in terms of Industry oriented Curriculum and cost of student recruited is low. So Employers prefer value for money Plus there are other reason Recession, AI, Global War, Unemployable unskilled students who are not good at problem solving skills. etc etc. This is Global Phenomenon people are giving less importance to degree more impirtance to real world problems solving analytical mathematical skills. Employers are thinking strongly that MBA's are not required in future the Techninal Engineer will be promoted to management jobs in future. So Online MBA Degrees for working professional is better options at present.

Not at all brother, I am from NIT Jaipur and my brother is from IIT Roorkee. The course is very much updated with industry regards and I have friends in other colleges they don not have the same luxury. As a mechanical engg students we are taught Machine learning , Control system(Part of electrical engg ) and data analytics including various management and core subjects as well.

Nowadays, even MBBS facing challenges, a doctor came for interview to me , fine when I told him we will give him Rs 75000 per month for working 208 hours and no other benefits, he was surprised and said I am already paying Rs 80,000 per month as part of educational loan ( he took Rs 70 Lakhs from Bank),, shocking. . 😮😮, medical colleges should reduce fees or very soon many medical colleges will be out of business

Avg salary of IITs is around 20 lakhs. People also get 1 crore+. So not a fair comparision. IITs also charge very low for PG courses.

The company does not care how much you have invested in your degree, they only look into ROI. A freshie is not worth paying 5 LPA. I think you should take whatever you are getting, if you are good you can always jump or switch. Niche consulting roles are much better than management consulting roles.....

​@@Brodragon2225no, recession comes after inflation. Inflation comes when products or services have increased. So govt central banks always try to push back to normal prices for products and services by increasing interest rates. This cause on job market as well coz most of the companies won't take loans from the banks to hire people due to interest rates. Again when inflation comes down. The government central banks will start cutting interest rates slowly and companies will take loans to hire people. This is just recycle process and will happen again and again for atleast in between 5 to 10 years..

What percentage of Indian employable age population joins the IIMs and what happens to the rest of graduates? This is the life of Indian Kids from 10th to 30 years of age they keep fighting and competing. And God only knows what happens to others who cannot crack JEE, NEET or CAT. The bottom line is if we keep increasing the population of India no one will be able to absorb all these kids in the Job and in 10 years even IIMs will face the glut of graduates but very little jobs.
