If anyone out there could help me understand something, he uses the buoyant unit weight of sand in his net pressure diagram below the water table, but I don't believe he ever accounts for the hydrostatic water pressure behind the wall. For anyone else confused by this I am assuming that the water table applies to the dredged side of the wall too, this way the water pressures balance out? Great tutorial though just a little confused by this! :)

i dunno, maybe because its granular soil??
@ChandanYadav-op1pl3 жыл бұрын
You are correct, pore water pressure will balance out from the back and front of sheet pile wall

Sir, please explain why linear variation is taken inspite of the fact That below dredge level pressure will remain constant for portion above pivot point and below pivot point?

Thanks very much for the excellent video. But I would like to second Ben Bennett's comment below. You used submerged weight of soil (below water table), but you haven't used hydrostatic pressure at all. Kindly explain. Thanks.

nice why we not take gamma effective at depth 3m rather than gama bcz water table encounter kindly elloberate?

Why hydrostatic pressure is not considered while calculating the earth pressure, even though it is acting.

Same Level, it will just cancel out :-)

yess increasing D 30% It means 100%D +30%D =130%D=1.3D
