The malayalam songs of 80s and 90s were widely remade in all indian languages... But the sad part is that the real compossers never got the credit since the malayalam movie were not watched by any non-malayalis....there are even times when the composer who copied the song won awards

Ilaiyaraaja re-used the tune of the song 'Thumbi vaa' in his Telugu, Tamil and in Balu Mahendra's Hindi film Aur Ek Prem Kahani. The song was also used two more times by Ilaiyaraaja himself and once by Shankar Ganesh. IIt was also used in the 2009 Hindi film Paa as "Gumm Summ Paa"

The last two songs are the most difficult tongue twisters among malayalam movie songs. The first among that (anthi kadapurath) was from the movie Amaram which won Mammotty the Bharath award and the second one (pada kaali) was from the super hit movie of Mohan lal called Yodha. There is a beautiful violin/Cello instrumental version of this song by a Cochin based band called Orfeo.. Check that out pls.. i am sure you would love it😊
